  1. Mitchell has had fantastic protection all season long that alone should stop this conversation.

Ridiculous to compare him with Willy... He also had Cornish and company who provided a great running game.

Willy is good ****.. He just needs some help

Problem with a lot of posters (in general) is that when times are tough .. they lack the ability to step back and look at what's going on objectively .. did Willy have a perfect season? Hell no. But there are a tonne of positives to build on and you can see he's easily the best quarterback we've had here in a long while. All I can hope is that we haven't absolutely crushed the guy because we didn't do enough to protect him.

it quite the opposite I'm looking at things as objectively as can be done. I'm pointing out obvious negatives willy has and needs to work on, I'm not saying I want him gone. It's not my problem it took you guys so long to see these obvious faults because you were too clouded by hope to look at things objectively and we're too excited with willys start to the season.
  2. He'd rather throw it away then take 60 sacks

Also he is only down 1 percent yet he throws it away way more.

Has 20 td vs willy 14

    8 ints vs willy 16

232 rushing yards and 4 rushing td

Vs willy 214 and 2 and this is in way less games...

Yall should learn your facts before you go spouting off who has better stats. Willy doesn't beat him in any category. Passing percent he is 1 ahead but you can subtract 5 or 6 percent for never throwing the ball away.

  3. I hope Etch & Bell are released after our last game and before the season ends ... it will send a strong message and get our recruiting season off to a good & early start

Then the problem you run into is that you won't be able to recruit anyone worth a damn because it's just further instability. No coach wants to go to a place where they're going to be fired after one season. And really why are we firing Etch again? The D has been ok this year. The biggest thing we need on D is some better defensive linemen in there. people are taking this dislike of Etchevary to ridiculous levels. He's not my ideal defensive coordinator but he certainly hasn't done anything to warrant being fired. He was better than I expected him to be and you don't fire a guy after one year when the D wasn't the big problem on this team. If I was putting the 3 phases in order of concerns about them it would be special teams > offense > defense.
except etch and belle have sucked for a long time now, definitely not just one season.
  4. Just a quick way of saying everything drew can do Bo can do better, and drew can't do half the things Bo excels at.

    Reading defenses

    Moving the pocket

    Scrambling

    Throwing on the run

    Quick release balls

    Deep ball accuracy

    composure

    Pocket awareness

Just a few examples of things Bo is better at.

and yet Willy has a better completion percentage and more yards than Bo does... Bo plays on a better and more talented team with the best coaches in the league, that's the real difference at this point.

which proves nothing other than you judge a QB more by his completion percentage than his overall ability, alas Damon allen..
  5. Thing is Tate doesn't look good when he plays. Tate looks worse than Willy. As far as Cornish is concerned, Bo has done just fine without him. He just a brilliant qb. Swap drew with Bo and Calgary record this year wouldn't of been nearly as good.

  7. I hope he learns from this year because if not we're in serious trouble next year.

His  coaching and personnel decisions alone have cost us a playoff spot. Bring in Romby Bryant and not gettin grid of him immediately when it was OBVIOUS that he was not mentally with us, is mistake # 1. Sticking with Drew Willy and his mentality to NEVER EVER EVER EVER pull him, is mistake #2. Starting Griggsby over Cotton, mistake #3, and not firing Etcheverry is mistake #4. Those 4 mistake have combined to cost us AT LEAST 5 games and a playoff spot an have combined to embarrass us continually at home in our still new Stadium. Kuale is another example, Mike, just because he was your BFF in TO, doesn't mean he should be defended no matter what he does.

So If O'shea learns ANYTHING this year, I hope it's he has learned that he doesn't have to 100% stand by every promise he makes to every player or coach, especially if that player or coach is not holding up his end of the bargain. If he doesn't learn that by next year, we're screwed.

I agree, Wily was freaking terrible and should be ashamed with himself.

11 sacks 80% of which were his own fault.

Quite frankly, anybody who disagreed and was standing in front of me tonight, I may be drunk but i know what I know and I'd punch him in the face for outright stupidity. Seriously, some plays Willy had all bloody day but he'd then pull down the ball and run right into a BC defender for no bloody reason. Soo freaking aggravating it's ridiculous.

Yup.. Threats of violence always make your point more valid..

    Smh.

No - thats more frustration I get what he's saying. It can be infuriating when a 'fan' only see's what they want to see. Willy had all kinds of time to throw, he had receivers open. It was hilarious, on the telecast, Suitor tried to make a point that all the receivers were covered. The 'short' receiver was about 6 yards underneath the coverage, but of course Suits was on a roll so he said he was 'covered'.

About 10 minutes of game time after that, Beck got the snap, turned, and fired a dart to Gore I believe it was, who was 'wide open' just like the bomber receiver was above, only the bomber defender was about 3 yards off him. It's amazing all the apologists there are for Drew 'freakin' Willy.

At least more fans are finally starting to see what I've been seeing since mid-August. He hasn't nearly been good enough, and tonight was his worst start yet (but low an behold he finally threw another TD pass).

But yeah, I get his frustration.

Unless you know what the read progression is on the play that is called, it is impossible to say "he had receivers open."  Probably the biggest fallacy in football from a fans point of view, when everyone goes "hey, that guy is open!"  Ya, but it's the QB's 6th read, and the by the time the ball gets to him the DB or LB is going to completely fill in the "opening" most of the time.  About as dumb as the people who yell "shoot" all the time on the powerplay at a hockey game.

Are you a pro Qb? Juran, I'll ask you then you seem to 'know your stuff'. Explain to me how our second stringer, Brian Brohm, and our third stringers, Robert Marve, can, with the same receivers, same oline, and same OC, and same play calling, make plays, and Willy can't? This is a legit question 'cause I definitely don't have a clue.

    Thanks in advance :)

Willy had a bad game.  Doesn't change the point of my other^ post, we can't know if he had receivers "open" or not because we don't know what he was looking at before or during the play.  Unless you have access to the coaches film it's a complete assumption to make watching on TV or from the stands.

BC has a great secondary, that's part of it.  Our scheme with Willy doesn't move him around a lot.  Hard for us to say if that is Bellefeuille's fault, Willy's fault (in terms of him preferring to take a straight drop) or a combination.  Our scheme for Brohm vs Calgary moved him around a lot, even though he isn't a "mobile" QB.  Did he "make plays?"  I wouldn't say he did anything special.  He was steady, but it was pretty obvious that the game was simplified for him with the rollouts which essentially shorten the field, make throws and reads a little quicker.  Marve was just blind luck IMO, and even at that he completed 50% of his passes while continually putting the ball in harms way.

It doesn't matter what he's freaking told to look at, the best QBS in the league will find an open receiver if they are open. Especially if they are wide open! You CAN"T find an open receiver though, if you don't even look. The majority of the time Willy wasn't looking, he was panicking!#!#1 Even when he didn't have to panick!!!!!
