  1. Bucko is getting a raw deal.  He had the job for a little over a year.  AND he walked into a crap show.  AND handled it decently.  AND changed his hair.

I hear LOTS of dodging going on in this news conference.  Do they really think the fans buy all this "we are righting the ship" nonsense.  Hiring old buddies again.

They should, because "we" will and are.

  2. I don't understand why we always have to reach back into the past for all our hirings.

We need to clear out the Board of Directors and everyone all the way down from there to the coaching staff and bring in some fresh blood.  People that aren't tied to the successes of 25 years ago and all the failures since then.  It's time for a total overhaul from top to bottom.

Yup, agreed.  The problems run even deeper than board - management - coaching staff - players.  It's the WHOLE damn organization.  I've got good friends who work operations and even that crew is an old boys club.

  3. Yep .. just misread that (and thanks for correcting).  Still trying to get a decent level of caffiene into my system .. :)

I hear ya.  I almost spit out my morning coffee when Lawless tweeted that if Mack goes (which he will) and Walters gets the interim tag (he will) than Buck moves up the depth chart.

Good god, one step forward, 2 steps backwards with this organization.

  4. Im feeling very doomy.... and gloomy about this game.

No Turner, No Gilmore, No Parker, No Watson(good bye any hope for a passing game), No Matthews, and a shitty Quarterback.

    1-3 anyone?

Just be happy they don't give out 2 L's for real lopsided games!!

In all seriousness though, I'm usually on the optimistic side of us Bomber fans....but maaaaaaan, what is there to look forward to?! I just read a tweet about Buck being "fired up right now. He's angry. Looks like he wants to play right now." So, there's that. Maybe an inspired (and free to scramble) Buck pulls a similar game to 2011 vs Edm and sparks the team to a victory.

But then, well, Buck would further entrench himself as this year's starter....which, well, isn't exactly a great thing either!

  5. I'm not sure if I'm for or against bringing KG in.  What I am for is developing a QB already! We tried with Elliot, tried with Brink, tried with others before them. Now, it's on Goltz and Hall.

I want this drought of ours ended as much as anyone, and if KG was the guy to get us there (Mr.Clutch in the postseason he is not, btw) I'd support it....but when are we going to abandon the band-aid QB's and give the youngings a shot?! Sure, it's different if a healthy Buck can be a top 4 QB in this league, but he's clearly no where close...and in the first 2 games he's arguably been the biggest liability on offence.

I really can't see the Bombers making a pitch for Glenn, besides the fact that Mack has never shown a willingness to bring in an aging vet like that, the move would also raise the question of why they didn't make the move in the offseason. To date, Buck has been exactly what they should have expected him to be, even hoped to be. He hasn't been injured, and has been just good enough to give them a shot to win both games. I think that regardless of what people think, Mack, Burke and co. are not stupid, they know that they have, at best, the 7th best starting QB in the league. Now, if Buck goes down, and Goltz isn't impressive, than maybe they re-think their strategy....but don't see it happening before then.

  6. Is it bad that I'm actually happy about this? I really want to see some more of our young guys step in; it's incredible that in our first two games, our three leading rec.eivers are all Canadian. Can't wait to see what Anderson and/or Pierce can do!

I wouldn't say I'm happy - never like to see one of our guys go down. But, this is a good test for the guys you've mentioned.

  7. Buck was pretty bad last night.  Just rusty? INT first play of the game, oy vey! Several throws that were 4/5 yds wide of the reciever on the sidelines, no excuse for that, just poor throws.

What last night's game highlights, is that even when Buck's healthy, he's not really anything more than a mediocore starting QB in this league.
