  1. So, the problem now is... up to 50% of the players were represented by agents not certified by the CFL/CFLPA. Technically, that is a breach of the collective bargaining agreement meaning players could walk if they want out of their contracts early. How stupid is/ was the CFL for allowing this to happen??? Sometimes the CFL looks & acts like such a bush league. Shooting itself in the foot time & time again. The arbitrator may have ruled saying that Williams contract was still valid but next time, an arbitrator may rule the other way... Slippery slope we're on right now.

  2. Chris Williams: How To Win Friends & Influence People. And 30-50% of the agents aren't registerd with the CFL& CFLPA? Like, why are players dealing wth so many unregistered agents. This is a joke, people. If these people aren't certified they have no business negotiating contracts for their clients. Why does the CFL always have to give itself a self imposed black eye before it does something??

  3. The Bombers should do what the Stamps do... They have a Wall of Fame where a couple of players & a builder every year or so are put on the wall in the stadium... The Esks do the same thing & it's classy & a big deal for the players selected. They have a dinner & make a weekend of it by flying former players into town & are honoured at a Stamps game by being driven into the stadium in convertibles. It really is a lot of fun & you can see how the players love it. A couple of years ago, Allen Pitts & Doug Flutie made it to the Wall Of fame & it was so cool. Also, under the grandstands in the two concourses on the east & west side there are huge posters of players being honoured. It'd be a great way for the Bombers to recognize great players from the past. I like the idea of a statue in front of the stadium. But that would have to be for the greatest player who ever played for the team... And who votes for that??

  4. Not necessarily. If he's in demand, it might be easier to give up an asset for him as opposed to getting in a bidding war on the open market.

If they can get him for free when he's cut then they don't have to give anything up. That's the key. Heff's trade value would go up I believe if he was a starter...

  5. Football isn't about what have you done for me before it's all about what can you do for me today, next game or next week? If Hefney can't cut it, he'll be gone. That is how it is playing pro sports. Players get paid to win & not paid to play. If that was the case both Alex Brink & Joey Elliott would still be here. All about performance.

  6. Sounds like a common trend so far is that people really like what they see out of Max Hall, and mixed reviews on Pierce, Goltz and Clement.  I am really hoping Goltz grabs the second spot but Hall is really polished.

Why, so  road griller can come on here & gloat on every post?  I bet we all don't want that. So fortunate that he has decided to stay where he is on the other site. One of the reasons I like this place so much  is that getting away from road griller gives this place such a breath of fresh air. Best man wins, I don't care who they are & how long they played here previously.

  7. he's only breaching it if he tries to play elsewhere. it's his right to sit.

No, there's been instances where players were fined daily for missing camp in a contract dispute. Happened in the CFL in the past & in the NHL, NFL, NBA & MLB. Guys wanted their contracts renegotiated & stayed away & teams fined them by the day for not being there. Players can't have their way here... others will try the same crap.

There hasn't been a contract holdout in the CFL for many, many years so it isn't commonplace to see it in the CFL. I remember Dieter Brock having a contract dispute in 1983 with the Bombers where he refused to report to training camp so the Bombers fined him everyday for missing camp. He finally arrived about a week or so  late to avoid the fines but he was not happy &  made it known loud & clear. He was traded to Hamilton just around Labour Day for Tom Clements.

  8. Get with the times, old man!

    Just kidding. :P

LOL! Thanks Mike. Actually i'm pretty connected for an old geezer. Have a laptop, desktop & smartphone even though it's a piece of crud Blackberry. I'm on facebook & twitter. About to launch into Snapchat as well. Haven't done that yet...

  9. This was something asked for by quite a few people.  It takes a good 1.5 - 2 seconds hovering over the link for the preview to show.  Is it on your mobile phone or using a computer that you are getting bothered by this?

Both laptop & desktop. Maybe I'm the minority but I absolutely hate that feature... For a smartphone, sure but on a laptop, no.
