  1. Understood but I didn't think my post was that out there. I was focused on the defence and how this could have been the outcome during any or all of the games during the win streak because the defence is not good except creating turn overs!
  2. Finally, a voice of reason. Let us hope it is better and that the guys out here can get over me and my post!
  3. I think they will get off to a strong start with the crowd behind them and will get more pressure on Kevin Glenn. Sask took their foot off the pedal in the second half but I expect the offence to pick up where it left off and the Blue to get back in the win column. However, it wil lbe close as all their games are.
  4. Is that a picture of you after they lost last game?? You guys were eitehr bullied in high school so badly that this is your only outlet to get retribution or you were high school bullies who haven't grown up. I clearly stated I felt the same way during the win streak. Get over yourselves and start watching with an open mind unless of course you are Wade Miller and Mike O'shea in disguise.
  5. I'm shocked at your irrational response. We re all Bomber fans here. I'm not ranting and raving. I backed up my concerns with stats. I do believe many of you have BLUEBLIDNERS on and that they are lucky to have won 7 games. They do not dominate teams in fact they usually get off to slow starts and have to come back. I know football is 4 quarters but I would like to see them play a full 4 quarters like Calgary does. The Bombers are a middle of the road team. Good but not great. If i am getting such flak for posting my concerns after a loss imagine if I posted my thoughts, which were similar during the win streak! You guys out here who think you are above us lesser post number posters would probably want to send me to Regina! I'm sure you have concerns over the defence and if you were at that Montreal game as I was had thoughts of leaving even if you stayed to the end. I will not stop posting when I have concerns despite your comments.
  6. This is not the first game that I am angry about the deensive play and it is certainly not the first time this season where the defence was torched. I am legitimately concerned about it as all fans should be. I would never post that after a win because y'all have your blue blinders on but the fact is the Bombers defence is second last in both points allowed (31.6 per game) and in passing yards allowed ( 316.50 ) so in fact the 7 wins have been on the heels of an offence that is playing very well and but for that the Bombers would be fighting it out with Hamilton for last place. Once again I'm not jumping off the ledge I was concerned about the defence before, DURING and after the win streak. One more caveat, it has been years since the Blue had a prolific offence thus I am very happy about that but frustrated with the defence DESPITE the 7 wins!!!
  7. You make me laugh I'm not butt hurt just questioning why jabroni no. 2 looks at post numbers as a sign of worthiness?? Only he can answer that and moreover I prefaced my comments with " I haven't lost all hope and it is just one loss" so no ledge or jumping legitimate concern about a team that has won 2 ot games and another with a miracle comeback/Montreal meltdown!
  8. Nice recap you could add why is the middle of the field always open for opponents ! I've never felt so uneasy about a 7-3 team. The banjo bowl can't come soon enough to prove me wrong .
  9. Let me get this straight because someone doesn't have 7000 posts their opinion is less valid or not worthy of being taken seriously. I suggest that isn't a great way to invite new comments or participation in this forum. I post when something inspires me to do it. Yesterday's game was one of those where I felt the need to get my thoughts off my chest. I was in the 'babble' section during the game and usually am there when I can be. I may not be a 'prolific' poster but I know the right time to post and I have legitimate concerns about this team moving forward. I am not panicking just yet I'll reserve that for Saturday's game. If they are picked apart again then I'll be posting and if they destroy the Rider's I'll also post something. I just fel it is very 'Trumpian' to judge someone by how many posts they have or don't have!
  10. I appreciate your reply but I fear that teams will use this game as a blue print for success this brutal defense that can't cover over he middle and gets little pressure on the qb. I agree that nicols (but for his 2 brain cramps today) and Harris are playing very well and carrying this team but they are not as prolific an offence as CAL, EDM or even SASK (I am impressed by that receiving core) therefore, the defence has to be better and during the win streak the offence kept them in games but yesterday both 'o' and 'd' helped out SASK when they didn't need any help!
  11. I will preface this by saying I would be happy with a series split and I've not lost all hope because of one loss BUT one has to admit that this team has been winning with smoke and mirros and at times inspite of some glaring deficiencies. I think it takes character and luck to win close games, which they have done this year and the show they can compete but this is a 7-3 team built on unstable ground starting with a stubborn coach, questionable defensive scheme and talent , mediocre special teams and an offence without a true play making receiver plus baffling play calls (I.e) jump ball to Denmark when it wasn't necessary nor is it the type of catch he ever makes. My bottom line is that this record is deceiving and this team while competitive could easily be 3-7 and next week will show their true colours.
  12. I only saw the 4th but was impressed that despite giving up the big play to Watson the offence came out and helped the defence with a couple solid drives. A few thoughts... Harris is a true play maker and Nicols/Lapo knows how to use him . Gotta keep Flanders in the line up. The Thorpedo continues to impress this team is one win against Calgary from being legitimate contenders if they do that sky is the limit BUT can't leave so many potential TD's off the board and continue with sloppy tackling leading to big plays.
  13. Thanks to all of you for the insight. I am curious though on 2nd and short why they can't play man instead of the zone? They are more likely to get called for PI on deep balls not a 5 yard throw. It really irks me to see how easily most teams convert on 2nd and short by passing against us whereas the Bombers offence seem to be the kings of the 2 and out right now. It is still early and at least they compete and have a chance to win most games unlike the pre-MOS era.
  14. I don't want to blame The Roc for all 42 of BC's points and I am wondering if someone with better insight than me can tell if the Blue were playing a soft zone coverage against B.C. except for the first TD where The Roc was clearly beaten by a receiver running a good route. Are the db's too slow to play man to man? The zone d and lack of rush is killing us. However, the d did get 2 stops at the end of the game that gave the Blue a shot at tying the game at the end.Thoughts??
  15. i disagree with you on this point as the effect of head injuries is now well known whereas back in the days before concussions (a.k.a B.C.) player safety took a back seat to male bravado. i am all for a good sack, open field tackle or bone jarring hit when the player sees it coming but Manny had no chance on that play to protect himself and Lofler ought to know better than to hit him up high like that even though he led with the shoulder. the game was on the line and that hit added fuel to the Lions fire. if that would have been one of the Bombers receivers we would all want and expect a penalty to be called. Times have changes. if we want to see football we either accept that those kind of hits are penalties or talented athletes will choose other sports where they aren't as susceptible to brain injuries.
  16. I guess I missed them and it may not matter to you but it was on my mind. I hope Harris feels the same way you do. it didn't look like it on Friday night.
  17. I think Andrew Harris is a true team player and one of the most intense players I've seen play the game and I think the Bombers should have given him a chance to hit the 1000 yard mark. I don't think he will sulk over it but it must leave him questioning what is going on when they put Dressler back into the game to hit the 1,000 yard receiving mark. I was going to let this go but I want others to chime in on whether or not O'Shea made a mistake. If he was concerned about players health going into the playoff game. he should have treated Harris and Dressler equally. I think Harris can have a greater impact on the team over the next few years than Dressler. he is a ratio breaker, threat in and out of the backfield and wants to win. I am not saying Dressler is not a good player but he is not a ratio breaker and seems to be injury prone with his best years perhaps behind him. Thoughts??
  18. Nice to see the Blue get the win when it didn't really matter and against The RB's 3rd string team. I'm at a loss as to why they basically benched Harris unless he was banged up? I'm also confused as to why he was in for the final play of the game??
  19. Thanks for the clarification on int no.1. It adds more fuel to the fire that he should have been taken out fora few series or a full quarter.
  20. On the first failed 3rd and 1 i blame Jesse briggs for not getting down. he allowed himself and/or the defensive player made a good play and forced him to stand upright, which cost him valuable inches. i also think the first INT was on Denmark who seemed to run the wrong route. Time to throw this game away and look ahead to Friday!
  21. I agree the game was within until Ottawa scored its second two point conversion of the game. In my mind that was down right embarrassing and something that should only happen in video games. I'll acknowledge that they tried for two because their place kicker was injured but the Blue defence was like Swiss cheese and Nicols was having a bad day. the humane thing to do was give him a rest fora few series or let Glenn play the 4th quarter as the game was out of reach by then. I'll chalk this up to a bad game all teams lay stinkers once in a while. this team has proven resilient and capable of capitalizing on other teams mistakes to win games. They couldn't do it on Saturday but they still have at least 2 more games to prove they can!
  22. You have to admit it was a pathetic performance for a game that had such important playoff implications for the Bombers. The season is not over and it was only one game but it highlighted all the weaknesses with this team.
  23. I agree that while Mos is partially responsible for this debacle specifically not pulling Nicols at all but the players failed to execute and that is in them whereas Ottawa came to play. However, they have played in big games before this edition of the Bombers has not. Let's see what happens next week and in the playoffs before giving Mos his walking papers.
  24. This game proved that either the Bombers are a one and done playoff team or that they were not prepared to play after a bye week. I hope it is the latter but will withhold judgment until next week. I am also in the Nicols should have been pulled camp it was obvious he wasn't going to work his way out of the funk he was in and he should have either been pulled for good after the third int or pulled for a few series after the second one to get his act together. Any one know why Flanders was out? Ratio or injury?
  25. His mind, spirit and body were crushed playing behind the bombers oline that was truly offensive when he was a starter. I feel for him because the Bombers were negligent in their treatment of him. They set him up for failure and likely ruined his career. They should have had a mobile qb behind that oline not a pocket passer.
