MLBAM To Take Over NHL Streaming

DJ Bean @DJ_Bean

Per a source, MLB's Baseball Advanced Media will take over NHL's web ops, apps, streaming video, etc. in 2016. Announcement tomorrow.

This is a good move.  MLB Advanced Media is considered an industry leader.  They do HBO's streaming.  They do WWE's Network streaming.

The new MLB TV player is so good.

Curious what this all means for NHL CI. This year was already going to change because those guys successfully sued the league, so the cost was going down by about 40% for this year. Really interested to see how this will change it, if at all.

Would like to get NHL CI only for Jets games in AB, and it'd be nice if it didn't cost a fortune...

I have no clue.  But I'd suspect MLBAM would likely cost a premium as they are industry leaders.  Although WWE Network is only $9.99.  I think they spend around $3 of that on "partners" ie. MLBAM, and other carriers.
