STEVE PATRICK

STEVE PATRICK It is with love and great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve: husband, father, grandfather and friend, on Saturday, January 11, 2014. He is survived by June, his wife of 58 years; children Kim (Shinsuke), Carolyn (Ken), Sandra, Stephen (Carrie), James (Deborah), Lisa (Danny), Tara; grandchildren, Brennan, Quinn, Madison, Nolan and Amelie; brother, Walter, and sisters, Anne and Tara. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Alex and Catherine, and his brother, John. Steve was born in Glenella, Manitoba in 1931 and spent his early years watching his parents homestead the family farm, where he learned the value of hard work and overcoming challenges. After moving to Winnipeg, Steve enjoyed a successful 13 year career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He played on four Grey Cup Championship teams and was later inducted into both the Blue Bomber and Manitoba Sports Halls of Fame.

Time stalks us all.

Terrible news, my condolences to the family.

One of the guys who was part of the Bombers Golden Age of the late 50's & early 60's gone... And I hope Gord Rowland will be okay.

Gordie's break was between the knee and his hip, they put in a rod with pins.Gord is walking now with a walker and hopes to be home on Sat.He feels bad he couldn't make it to Steves funeral and will be phoning his buddy Jack Delveaux to fill him in all the news.

Too bad that happened.... That's a major deal for a senior. My wife's aunt passed away a couple of weeks ago. She was in her mid 80's. She fell, broke her ankle but never got out of the hospital. It was a simple break that you & I could handle easily after the break was set & in a cast but she just gave up...
