  1. Do you even into english much?
  2. Didn't read the post, obviously (and as usual). I suggested that coach Hall did in fact do that.
  3. This is sort of continuing the discussion from the Bombers' season thread, but I thought that discussion of the Argos roster this past Friday and the reasoning and strategy behind it was more germane here. I know that most of us would've rather seen a competitive game instead of having the Argos treat Friday like a Preseason (and make no mistake, they did) but consider it from our side and you quickly realize why we'd do this on the road, late in the season and against a team we may see again. The Argos 6-game has: Daniel, Amos, Muamba, Gittens, Haggerty, Carnell, Bladek and Johnson Our 1 game list had: Oakman, Peters, McManis, Cage, Phillips and Richards That's 9 nailed-on starters (and 2 others who although they're starting calibre, we likely won't see them). And maybe as many as a dozen that could start and we (or anyone else) would be happy to have them. And they are mostly who are starters of All Star calibre and a few are those guys who have displayed that Big-Play Gene. And of course, the Big one: we sat The Chad and played 3 quarters of Dukes, a quarter of Scott and a final series of Dukes. Exactly like we did in the preseason against Hamilton. And we hid our playbooks. I didn't see a single play that I hadn't already watched this year. This is very atypical for us. Dinwidde and Mace roll out new things by the week. I didn't see a single blitz get disguised and I'm fairly sure we didn't do any of our run-blitzing (part of why Olivera ran so effectively on us all night). (as an aside: I feel better about our backup situation now. way to early to see if he has or will develop starter or even elite traits... but you guys played your defence close to your vest too... I had presumed that you would go after Dukes early and often to shake him up. Looked more like Hall was saving that for when it gets real and just daring the kid to make completions against you if he could) As for the Bombers, perhaps it's a case of playing down to the perceived level of an opponent (ie: they saw that it was a heavily rotated Argo team that didn't need a win) but they did not impress. Even Olivera. You can't fault anything he did because he can only play against what gets set in front of him, and he did it very well. But there was no scheme whatsoever in place for him. This was a one-off. Takeaway: we're leaving with a loss, but with a sense of confidence. Because if these two teams are fortunate enough to play each other again, the game will be very different. And on that day in November if they face the actual 2023 Argonauts, the Bombers will have to do much better than they did Friday night.
  4. No. Their tour breaks between late October and February. I know, I know... Never been to a bad Maiden show.
  5. Nice win guys. I'm rarely content with a loss of any sort, but this one was always going to happen. Hope we can do this again in Hamilsmell.
  6. I seem to remember a poster that would've also got one of those.
  7. No argument. Corporate welfare (to a massively profitable corporation) is still just that: welfare.
  8. Can't see that happening. You'll have your ears pinned back ready to rattle the kid. Hope he's learned how to evade blitzes.
  9. Probably... but in my mind's eye I just imagine some functionary in MLSE's offices receiving the cheque and then throwing it into a silo filled with a Scrooge McDuckian pile of luchre.
  10. We don't need it as we are pretty good... but we'll continue having them do it for us anyway. You can send those support cheques to us and make them payable to "The Champions".
  11. Oh I dunno, I figure that we're in the more enviable position these days. Enjoy guaranteed win night. Go easy on the kid. He seems nice.
  12. You do know that was a Stubler thing here (when Osh played for us), right??
  13. Seems somehow familiar...
  14. I'd buy the exact same shirt, if it'd been an A instead of a W. We don't get many merch options (but it's been better this year).
  15. Thanks guys. The email above made it sound like the Argos were wearing Orange jersey which were up for auction too. No such luck. Maybe I'll bid on the Damian Jackson jersey and donate it to MBB if I win... EDIT: seriously though, those orange Ts and Hoodies look cool. You guys should jump on those.
  16. Appreciate it, but I'd already looked there... maybe I missed it.
  17. Honey Garlic Pork bites sounds good. Could someone please PM me the link to bid on an Orange jersey?
  18. Also, because I got tired of Pepper Brooks not looking or talking like Pepper Brooks, I went to chat GPT for some assistance. Bluto to GPT: Please answer all of my questions in the style of the character Pepper Brooks from the movie Dodgeball. Bluto to GPT: How should the Winnipeg Blue Bombers set themselves up to play the Toronto Argonauts? Bluto to GPT: Thanks Pepper, I appreciate your perspective on this important match for Winnipeg.
  19. OK... someone make a Game Day Thread: "Bombers host the Grey Cup Champions' B-Team" And let the (likely) slaughter commence.
  20. If you somehow lose against the team that's published on the Argo's depth chart today, it should be unbearable... because that would be a very ill omen for the Bombers. And there'd be no time for any niceties.
  21. Argo Depth Chart is up. https://d3ham790trbkqy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2016/06/Week-17-vs.-WPG-September-29-2023-PDF.pdf Sorry, I can't figure how to post the image.
  22. And the internet...
