BC signs Steven Jyles

Wally has now officially been diagnosed with Oldtimers disease.

He does seem to be losing his edge.

Buono's on crack.

This smells of desperation on Buono's part, although IMO Jyles is a capable back-up (only) and Buono gave of nothing to acquire him. I suppose the question now is, how long before Glenn's head explodes in Ottawa and Desjardins admits that he made a mistake for having his asking price ridiculously high.

Desjardins must be sh*tting his pants right now.

Couple ways to look at it from a different perspective:

Jyles has a similar skill set to Chris Hart - a quarterback the Lions have been quite high on. He can lend some advice and help for a guy looking to breakthrough for a roster spot.

The Lions were burned badly by mobile quarterbacks last season, and while you can get wisdom from different outlets, having first hand experience from that style of quarterback isn't a bad thing.

Finally, perhaps unlikely, but a shot in the dark at trying to force Ottawa's hand by posturing themselves with a veteran back-up. "We're fine with our situation, but are you fine with having a back-up who is clearly unhappy with his situation." To which Ottawa probably laughs and hangs up.

There's more teams than BC lurking in the bushes for the day Glenn is released outright.

Us, Horsefaces, maybe even Montreal.
