  1. Oh and since it came up in the thread I'll mention again that when I was there Sherman was starting at safety when Leggett was injured.
  2. I think the less training camp reports come from a variety of things: 1) Location. Being on the sideline is great for some things, especially little details in drills and being so close to the players, but it just has a different feel to me than being in the stadium. It was nice having the ability to sit higher up sometimes to see things, move around depending on which positions and drills you wanted to see, etc. 2) Because you can't see as much, naturally reports will decrease. There were some positions I just didn't get to watch much of in my two days earlier in the week. Next year it'll be back to normal so it'll probably help out a lot. 3) Its no secret our media is lazy. In years past, they would sit in a group usually high up in the first level of stands, or in the new stadium commonly on the concourse seats, and occasionally/infrequently (depending on the reporter) turn their head to watch the play. Now, they're even more disinterested in watching practice. They don't have chairs (from the reporters I've seen), which means they usually spend their time chatting and walking along the sideline, arranging their post-practice interviews. And they're getting the same tough sideline view as us. They're not going to actually work to provide more info to fans. Basically, they pick out who's not dressed and practicing and plan which generic questions they're going to ask the coaches. I'll probably go this weekend once I can check out the practice times.
  3. This is hot nonsense. RBs have looked pretty good, to the point where its hard separating the starter and backup from the camp guys. Cotton, Marshall and Randle have all looked good. Even Anderson reeled off a huge run today. are you serious? considering they have looked terrible. our RB's are a weak part of the team right now. What can i tell you. you can think what you want. i'm telling the reality. Do not be surprised if we bring in a new RB soon. Cameron is our best RB of the bunch however. You're providing absolutely, positively nothing to back yourself up. I hope you're banned soon. I won't be at camp to call you on all your BS consistently. He shouldn't be banned because he has a different opinion than yours I agree. The blatant trolling in numerous other threads and the blatant lies on here should do it.

  6. Its funny, Bob Irving was walking around behind me for a good portion of practice, and I saw Tait and Wiecek discussing amongst themselves as well. I'm not sure where TuscaloosaBlue is getting his info from but I can wager a few guesses. Most of which will be censored.
  7. Good for Weatherman... err Westerman... bad on Daniels. any reports for our awesome group of long-haired Cdn LBs - Hurl, Newman, Waggoner and Briggs. Hurl continues to play a lot at MLB in the drills and scrimmages. Wouldn't surprise me to two starting Canadian linebackers to start the season. If this works out Bucknor may be in jeopardy with Randle on one corner and Johnny Adams on the other. Newman might rotate in as a LB as well. I read a report that Chungh is seriously sucking wind after every play, this might put to rest the Greaves trade rumours. I'm not sure what their intention is if they do start two Canadian LBs, but you're right in that it could mean we don't need Bucknor at corner. Bucknor and Morgan worked in the same corner spot today from what I could tell though. They could easily go Canadian there still because of that depth. And unrelated, but Reaves worked at Kohlert's wideout spot today as well. I had meant to mention this earlier. Reaves is quite a work in progress. He's got some decent physical tools but I don't think he's as good a receiver almost anyone out there. Thinking he's a PR project, but it allows them, like at CB, to have a Canadian WR spot occupied with a current starter and project player.

Also, thanks to everyone who is attending and offering insight. Greatly appreciates for us plebs who are stuck in an office! No problem, like to help out if I can. I'm back to work this week and most of next week, so hoping others can keep us all informed.
  9. A few other things from practice: WRs: Darvin Adams is underrated. Thought he played well today. As mentioned before, Millington had a really nice play early in the second practice. Pulled his groin later in the practice though. Denmark is such a great route runner. I was critical of Walters and O'Shea for making me watch Bryant and Kelly last year. Hopefully a few good guys come out of this crop of receivers. Of the new guys, I've liked Adams and Tunei (dropped one today) the most. Hard to separate favourites from Willy, Childs, Gordon. Feoli-Gudino continues to get open and catch passes in scrimmages. He's not blessed with a lot of physical talent but somehow he finds a way to get open. DBs: Randle was back on corner for most of the part I saw. I keep bringing it up simply because they've got him as a LB on the sheet and online, and I would rather have him back outside. He can shut down WRs out there. Brendan Morgan's athleticism stood out in some position drills, but when he has to face someone he struggles. Denmark had him completely turned around on a skeleton drill, and he got beat by a few other WRs too. Stoudermire intercepted Yantz today, which is about the only time I've thought of him as anything other than a returner. I didn't see Leggett out there today, did I miss something on the Twitterverse from that? I really hope Dile can do enough at RT for us this season. Daniels did not have a great day.

  11. Actually, twice now in the scrimmage he's beat Daniels
  12. Weatherman just burned a RT
  13. How is Westerman doing? Haven't watched a lot of him, hard to isolate on linemen from the sideline view. Yesterday he looked good to me but today I've seen even less of him. Will try and see more of him once the special teams work is done, but this might be it for practice today.
  14. Going offense vs defense now. Randle at corner. Sherman at safety. Line is Peach, Thomas, Turner, Gibson.
  15. I really like our receivers this year. Big targets, most are pretty fast too.
  16. Millington just made two gorgeous cuts on one route in one on one drills.
  17. Heading out again for the second practice, should be able to give a few updates.
  18. A few other tidbits to add: I was interested in seeing the new OL out there but its hard to see who's creating space from the sideline. There were a few big runs when they went up against the defense so that's a good sign, but don't have much else to report. Hurl took a lot of reps at MLB. I keep forgetting about Newman, he had a lot of reps at OLB too. Our DL this year should be impressive. Westerman, Anderson and Turner could be special. I thought Gibson looked alright at the rush end spot. I hope to see more of Bastien in more practices. Bigger than I thought, and made a few catches.
  19. What about Tunei's day was inconsistent? I recall a ball he didn't catch that was thrown behind him, but that's about it. Other than that he caught what was thrown his way, and even when he wasn't involved he managed to break from the DBs.
  20. I'm standing today since only here for the second practice. I don't mind it really, but harder to see routes and coverages. Definitely miss being able to see the whole field from just a few rows above. Find it harder to get more useful info from the practice.
  21. In the second practice Bass has had two huge hits. Practiced some runs today and now hitting the passing plays. Tunei with two good plays in skeleton drills earlier.
  22. Penton tweeted Unamba in at SAM now and Randle back on the corner. How many people are there today? Had a night shift so I might go for the second half of practice.
  23. Great news about the website and stats. Glad they got a new TV deal, but we just finished talking about how they're only showing a couple of preseason games on TV. Financially this deal I'm sure is good for the league and for TSN, but I would have been interested to know if others were seriously interested in it. TSN's panel is awful and some of their game coverage is brutal too. The addition of LaPolice to actually do film breakdown was a step in the right direction. Granted, sometimes competition doesn't even make it better. SportsNet's hockey coverage is awful.
  24. Whenever the next TV contract comes up, broadcasting preseason games should be mandatory. TSN has five freaking channels. I understand the money aspect of producing a football game and especially preseason, but you think it would help grow the game. Doesn't even have to be a full production either.
  25. Was really hoping for bleachers, but other than the first day there should be plenty of space.
