On an unrelated, hilarious note... a family in Nova Scotia currently faces allegations of tax fraud because a CRA auditor flagged some of the claimed expenses as fictitious, they were paid to a "Vandelee Industries". This is the same name as the fictitious company setup by George Costanza in an episode of Seinfeld.

Albertans will still blame Notley and Trudeau for all of their woes regardless.

Whoa, not so fast. You should  know that Syncrude & Husky Oil are complaining bitterly that the price for Alberta oil is now too expensive to be shipped by rail & both are threatening to curtail shipments of  AB oil to market.  For the past 2 months, the AB govt has raised production levels of Western Canada Select to keep them at least $10 a barrel lower than West Texas Intermediate. The only way to get full value for WCS is to ship it by pipeline. How can you give Trudeau any credit for any of this is beyond me.

Whoa - not so fast.  Those companies are complaining because they also own refineries - thus they were still turning a handsome profit in spite of the low crude prices.

According to this article, it looks like the markets will eventually adjust and stabilize.

Sept 2018 Mexican President.

“The commitment is to produce gasoline in Mexico,” Lopez Obrador said on Tuesday. “We want to produce gasoline because we have the raw material, we have crude oil.”

(duh)

He added the project launch will happen “in the first days” of his government. He takes office in December.

Mexico produces about 1.84 million bpd of crude, more than 60 percent of which is exported, while it imports over 1 million bpd of refined products, including gasoline and diesel, according to U.S. and Mexican government data."
