Am I the only one who has no idea what to expect regarding our roster this year because of all the new rules regarding Canadian eligibility? Lol

You are not alone in the confusion but realistically we don't have any scrub NAT starters. I mean we could potentially see Woli and Fatboi losing some reps but really who else? I don't think this changes much for us in roster construction other than a little more freedom in replacing injured NAT starters and a little more pressure on the rookies as vet status is a lot more valuable now. In a saw off of talent the vet now has the upper hand.

Always the best time of the season this! Well and the first game week lol. Think we have some good rookies here and eager to see what they can all do moving forward.

Been off the forum for a bit due to some pretty bad things that went on in my life: Bad wreck, loss of employment, etc but am in a better place now and looking forward to a new season of Bomber football.

Hope everyone here has been doing alright.👍

I mean, it's all you're going to get, so whatever...it's something. There will ALWAYS be a shroud of secrecy with an Osh team. He wants as much stuff as possible kept in house and protect the players privacy. It is what it is.

The number of national starters has increased to eight but one of them can be a nationalized American, who has played five years in the CFL or three years with the same team.

One Canadian starter on each side of the ball can be replaced for up to 49 percent of snaps.

The twist is that the two teams who play "true nationals" on the most snaps this season get an extra second round pick in the 2024 draft.

Which spots do we have a nationalized American available? Most of the players we have that qualify as nationalized Americans are already starters. These spots might end up being used for American veterans who are nearing the end of their career. For example, starting Shayne Gauthier and Adam Bighill in a platoon. It could also be used for a guy like Janarion Grant, as already mentioned... Rotating in the receiving corps. Could we see a young American receiver win a starting job over Rasheed Bailey for example? This would let Bailey rotate in as a nationalized American. We might even see some teams carry a veteran American OL that rotates in at Guard for example, improving the line for half the snaps. Not that an American is necessarily better than a Canadian but some teams may have that situation available.

idk how many imp ol aren’t starters but have that much service. But they would certainly be very valuable.

Would it extend to globals? I think rotational de / pass rushers will be really big. Lots of those guys with enough years of service and lots of ni dl kicking around to create depth instantly.

might be some rbs who can rotate with ni fbs who block on passing downs.

could see lots of older dbs platoon with nis or function as a dime.

Would Sergio Castillo count as a nationalized imp? How would that work with a kicker? Would he count as just a ni counter same with grant. If that saves us one or two di spots that would be pretty huge. Neither would play 49% of snaps in any case.
Teams are gonna exploit the crap outta this one way or another.
