A third fan in a Jets jersey had to be assisted after falling down the stairs and appearing to crack their head on the boards. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injury. Fans got Jets players and on-ice officials to bring over towels to help out the bleeding victim who waved to the crowd as they were being helped up the stairs. Police say that a man and woman were “causing a disturbance” during Winnipeg’s 5-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche, which escalated to the point where they required removal from the Canada Life Centre. Two security staff were assaulted while attempting to remove the man and woman, suffering minor upper-body injuries and receiving medical care on-site. The suspects and victims were not known to each other previously and police suspect alcohol played a factor in the incident. As a result of a police investigation, a 34-year-old Winnipeg man is facing two counts of assault and resisting a peace officer, while the 28-year-old woman is also facing two assault charges, as well as assaulting a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.
