We need a new kicker that can actually kick converts.  The game should have been tied and sent to overtime.

Its not one missed convert.. Its many missed converts..

How he can make FGs but repeatedly miss converts makes 0 sense to me.

Ohh well..

If Toronto had a fg kicker they would have had 9 more points

It wasn't just the missed point after and that shitty shitty blocked field goal.

His punting and kick offs gave them instant field position ALL NIGHT LONG.

Now that I've calmed down a bit... This loss sucks hard, especially watching it in person.  And the Bombers lost this game because of some shitty offensive play calling.  Collaros was off all game.  That pass to Ellingson in the first half when he was wide open... Like how do you not make that play?  Then the turnovers on 2/4 of our last possessions.  Why we didn't utilize play action or those 6-7 yd passes.  Buck called a terrible game plan..he got so concerned with making big plays he went away from what was successful.  That Prukop throw could have been great but it looks like one of our guys ran a wrong route which led to the ball being picked.

Yes Legs was brutal.  Bad punting, another missed convert.  But that came with 14 mins in the 4th quarter... Offence has to score more points. Still though I have no confidence in the guy, and probably needs to be replaced.

Defense played great, and did their job.  They forced a turnover too which we didn't nothing with.  That 20 yd run by Kelly when he should have been sacked was the dagger.

Disappointing finish.  We need O'Shea back .

This team still set a franchise record for wins and still was 1 point shy in a game they played objectively poorly in.

This loss doesn't really bother me. Ultimately it simply came down to the players leaving too many plays on the field and we know they can be better than that so chalk it up to what it is, bad night at the office in the worst game to have one of those.

Next season Toronto will be a mediocre team again that no one cares about and Winnipeg will be one of it not the top team in the league again.

When your kicker is forced to punt 8 times, it's not the kicker's fault we lost.  As for the punting, the wind definitely seemed to be a factor and we did nothing into the wind with the best running attack in the league.

All of this is of course true. The offense  sucked in almost every possible way except for Brady Oliveira. But it is a bit comical to not acknowledge that our kicker made a major contribution to the loss as well. It is not an either or equation. Yes, we didn’t really deserve to win yesterday because of our all-around play on offense. And it is also true that one of the things a team can do to give itself the best chance of success is ensure they have a reliable kicker. Championship teams have this. This was true for Blue in 2019 and 2021. It was not true, however, throughout the 2022 season, and yesterday it definitely bit us in the ass.

It's easy, for simple minds, to focus on one thing: kicking. But that's not why we lost. Offense, Defense, and STs (blocking anyone???) were **** in different spots. This was a team earned loss. I haven't been this disappointed in our starting OL in a really long time, but again, it was everyone. Bad night at the office, indeed.

Yup, lots of individual plays from all facets of the game that could have made a huge difference in the outcome.  Team loss.

Kicking is the easiest of scapegoats because it is just one person.

On offense, sure, you have the QB- but if the oline is not working or the run game not working it affects the QB. it's not always on the qb...

Place-kicking should be automatic within 40 yards, 90% @ 47 yards. As long as you get protection, it's just the kicker putting that ball through the uprights.... it's not a moving reciever that you have to time and see if he's covered or go through any reads... It should be simple- put the ball through the uprights. If you can't do that, there is none else to really blame... no other factor that makes you miss (like a receiver being chipped or even falling)

Punting? same thing. You try and put the ball where you need to. If it's miss hit, that's on the kicker... if it's not traveling the distance you should be punting it.. it's generally the kicker.

The return is completely different- that is not usually the kicker's fault.

When we had Medlock- there was no issue at all with any of the above.

When we had Castillo, we didn't have these issues...

It falls on the kicker. HE gave up a tonne of field position to the argos... kick offs... to the 25? wtf? 25 yard punts? C'MON!
