The NHL Covid Protocol Thread

It's possible that the NHL changes their protocol to allow players that are positive but show no signs and are feeling well to play. Players going to China have a huge decision to make because if they go over and test positive they wont be able to come back for a length of time and also lose money from not being able to play game for their contracted teams

No way they allow Covid+ players to play. That would be reckless and, likely in some jurisdictions, negligent. The NHL does not want to fight the various levels of Gov't and the PR issues it would cause.

I think the NHL will cancel participation in the Beijing Olympics. I'm down with that anyway, Covid or no Covid. Screw the CCP.

When does the NHL go back to having some spare players at the ready for each team?

Additionally, the Montreal Canadiens will pause team activities at least through Dec. 26. The decision was made by the NHL's, the NHLPA's and the Club medical groups.

On Sunday, the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs became the sixth and seventh NHL teams to be shut down through the holiday break, joining the Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators, Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers.
