As success with the longer passes increases, teams will be less inclined to put 7 or 8 men in the box

The Riders were committed to stopping the run, but the Bombers made them pay for it

And Andrew Harris still got 80 yards.

Next game in Edmonton is going to very interesting - I'm very much looking forward to it...

Much less one dimensional. The team can score a lot more quickly now and doesn't always need to make 7 or 8 plays to get into field goal range. Right now you gotta defend everywhere on the field for the Bombers.

Our run game has struggled alot in 4 of our 6 starts. We are not less 1 dimensional. We are more explosive and far better at cashing in majors.

No I am a fan of what collaros is doing, but the coach is putting the receivers in a position to make catches in zones for his qb. did you want any of Ottawa last night? How many times did you see the receivers for ottawa stop and wait for a pass to let the dbs comes downhill on them? Lapo doesn't do his receivers any favours when going in the intermediate routes.

I watched the Grey Cup in 2019 and the play off run and noticed much of the same as yesterdays game.    I think you are confused from earlier in 2019 when a certain QB would completely under throw a receiver which resulted in the receiver having to stop his route and jump back to catch the ball.

We are in a wayyyy better place this yr with the offence..and offensive philosophy.

A lot has to do with Zack...but also a lot with what we are focusing on doing and the general philosophy.

Harris isn't the central key and a crutch for the QB that Nichols relied on way too much...Zack has rarely even looked his way as an outlet and we still sustain drives...now just wait till teams off stop spying Harris and give him less attention ..things will open right up for him in that outlet option and u can bet we will exploit it

A lot of that credit goes to Zach. He's doing much the same as he did in the play off run.

If we had Marc trestman as our oc the offense would be a lot better.

Disagree.  The West Coast (Trestman) stuff is real similar to what Lapo runs.  Collaros is more of a downfield passer and scrambler, he's not throwing 30 yards laterally to go 3 yards downfield on a timing route.  When we get bogged down running that stuff he starts struggling as he did earlier this season in Toronto.

Collaros runs a nice screen game with the majority of the passes in that 10-20 zone and a good amount of 20+ in there too, but most of the stuff he throws under 10 yards is off a scramble when he draws the second and third level of the D to him.

Trestman has run lots of 5 verts and down field passing scheme with ac who was also a down field guy. He isn't a plop type he just adapts to his qb and Ray was the ultimate check down guy. People forget what he's done out side of that argos ray offense.

The biggest thing is plays that are made out of the pocket.  Zack has been really good throwing on the run.

Not a lot of that is designed plays though. The majority of the time zach throws on the run he's scrambling. If we used more play action boots it would work great though. Zacks ability to throw down field on the run is exceptional.

The biggest difference from what I've seen is the receivers are catching the ball in stride or in the air.   They rarely ever have to dive backwards or leap to catch a ball that's severely under thrown a la Alex Brink/Matt Nichols specials.  The balls seem to be arriving at chest level or up high on almost each throw.

Thats true, even when they have to leap like woli's great grab. They are leaping with their momentum. Not a lot of shoe laces or behind the back attempts. Collaros has the full tool set with his arm. All the strength you could want, the touch to drop balls over the shoulder, and the accuracy to thread the needle.

Despite being 33, he has only 98 games player as well. Idk how many starts Id imagine 10 or so less than the max. If he stays healthy, and hes fought some minor bumps and bruises this year but not let them slow him down, we could have this level of play for a few years.

  Collaros stirs the drink.
His ability to move around back there, buy time and deliver the ball, while moving.....gives this O, a much different dimension and more downfield threat.   The passing accuracy has been very good, as well..........

This is the best, and most dynamic QBing the bombers have seen in a very long time. Weve had some brief runs of great QBing in the semi modern era, but they always had a catch. Usually in the form of a lot of picks. But collaros doesnt have a catch. He protects the ball, he can make any throw, makes great choices and lets his wrs go up and make plays. And I think as the year goes it will only improve with play call and familiarity.

1-Defense is playing like we've never seen

2-Collaros,playing phenomenal ball,Zuck(Zach/buck) are the perfect couple

3- Demski with a monster game

HH to Richie Hall calling perfection

Like we've never seen? I'd say they are playing like we haven't seen since 1990. Tyrone Jones would be so proud of these guys....
