JCon 11,740
Thankfully, we're staying in Code Red. Some small changes that I can live with. Now, I can finally have that gender reveal party with more than 10 people. I'll reload the t-shirt cannon that I lifted from IGF with the appropriate coloured t-shirts and let it fly. bustamente 4,906
It seemed that Pallister and his cronies were all ready to move down to Orange last week, something spooked them and unfortunately we will find out that cases and tpr are going to ramp up in the next few weeks in the Winnipeg area, anyways smart move to extend Code Red till after the holiday's all the while getting more and more vaccinated

wanna-b-fanboy 6,472
First off: "The news comes as members of Manitoba's vaccine task force announced they will pause expanding vaccine eligibility criteria as appointment capacity has reached its limit. " They need to start ramping up their vaccination plan to accommodate the steady supply of vaccines. Also, is it just rose-coloured glasses or are the covid related deaths going down- a lot? rebusrankin

Noeller 16,641
not sure about MB, but with variants raging out of control in AB, the Minister of Health (a real ******* moron, but that's neither here nor there...) said the other day that half of all hospitalizations are people under 65, and nearly 80% of ICUs are under 65..... the variants are attacking "younger" populations hard. The 3rd wave that we're seeing develop is going to decimate a "younger" population much worse than we saw with the initial strain... JCon
Tracker 8,408
As per CBC News this morning, there has been an explosion of COVID variant cases in Regina, leading to a severe clampdown. Scary- it could happen here, too if we are not vigilant and respect the restrictions. Noeller
wanna-b-fanboy 6,472
This is reassuring: "Last week, Manitoba announced it was piloting a new model at its supersites in Morden and Winnipeg, which it said will streamline delivery by having patients sit in one area while immunizers move between them. On Wednesday, task force members said the new model will increase the number of doses each immunizer can deliver from between six and eight per hour to around 60." A report in the New York Times says the EU is finalizing emergency legislation that would give it broad powers to curb exports of COVID-19 vaccines for the next six weeks, as part of its response to supply shortages at home. The report says that would make it harder for pharmaceutical companies producing COVID-19 vaccines in the EU to export them. In an emailed statement, the press secretary for Mary Ng, minister of small business, export promotion and international trade, said Ng's counterparts have assured her that these measures will not affect vaccine shipments to Canada." https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/vaccine-shipments-canada-eu-1.5961888 Noeller
