You can't win with those types. If something bad happens, it's Gods will....if they don't want to listen to the Government it's because you can't be of this world and a Christian. If they WANT to follow the Government it's because God picks the leaders. If the community around them is upset with them it's because they are fighting against an evil society etc etc etc. I was never a far-right christian. But I was a christian at one point in time and I know all to well how they will use the Bible to justify any position they take.

Do not lump all followers of the Christ into one. Most of us are decent people who care about our friends and neighbours and use His teachings to guide our lives, our conduct with others and the world we all share. Again, there is a small but vocal and annoying minority who use their beliefs to justify no end of doing harm to others and aggrandizing themselves as somehow morally superior. There are similar people within Jewish communities (Lev Tahor), Mennonites (Old Order) as well as Muslim and even Buddhist.

Every religion has its idiots and adherents who twist the meanings to support their own twisted ideas. Most religions also have adherents who use their religion to improve their life, community and world.

Bolsonaro faces ‘crimes against humanity’ charge over COVID-19 mishandling

A Brazilian congressional panel has recommended that President Jair Bolsonaro be charged with “crimes against humanity" over his alleged bungling of the country's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The near-1,200 page report, formally presented on Oct. 20, 2021, holds Bolsonaro culpable for worsening a crisis that has to date killed some 600,000 Brazilians, outlining how his failed policies allowed the virus to spread among the population. The president denies any wrongdoing.

An earlier draft had called for Bolsonaro to be indicted for homicide and genocide as well, given how the ravages of the coronavirus have disproportionately hit Brazil's Indigenous groups. But those charges were dropped from the final report.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, The Conversation's authors have been chronicling the crisis in Brazil – and Bolsonaro's role in letting it happen.

Pfizer Says COVID-19 Vaccine More Than 90% Effective In Kids

Kid-size doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine appear safe and nearly 91% effective at preventing symptomatic infections in 5- to 11-year-olds, according to study details released Friday as the U.S. considers opening vaccinations to that age group.

The shots could begin in early November, with the first children in line fully protected by Christmas, if regulators give the go-ahead. That would represent a major expansion of the nation’s vaccine drive, encompassing roughly 28 million elementary school-age youngsters.

Details of Pfizer’s study were posted online. The Food and Drug Administration was expected to post its own review of the company’s safety and effectiveness data later in the day.

Advisers to the FDA will publicly debate the evidence next week. If the agency itself authorizes the shots, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will make the final decision on who should receive them.

Full-strength Pfizer shots already are authorized for anyone 12 or older, but pediatricians and many parents are anxiously awaiting protection for younger children to stem rising infections and record hospitalizations among them from the extra-contagious delta variant and to help keep kids in school.

Real world seems 85% judging by our infection rate among vac/unvaccinated.

CDC Watching 'Delta Plus' Subvariant 'Very Carefully,' Director Says.  “We have had a handful of cases here in the United States, but it has not taken off as it has in the U.K.," Dr. Rochelle Walensky said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is “very carefully” watching a mutated form of the coronavirus called “delta plus,” the agency’s director said Sunday, as cases of the delta subvariant continue to rise in the United Kingdom.

“We absolutely are following the genomic sequencing of this very carefully,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky said in an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. “We have had a handful of cases here in the United States, but it has not taken off as it has in the U.K.”

That subvariant, AY.4.2, makes up just 0.1% of all cases in the U.S., according to the CDC. It’s not yet clear whether it is in fact more transmissible than the delta variant, though AY.4.2 cases in the U.K. have become “increasingly common” in recent months, with early evidence suggesting that its growth rate may be higher than that of delta, according to the U.K. Health Security Agency.
