As Florida COVID-19 Cases Skyrocket, State Orders All Schools To Reopen Next Month

School districts must provide a full array of services for families who wish to educate their children in a brick and mortar school. Florida’s education commissioner on Monday ordered schools to reopen for in-person instruction in August, even as coronavirus cases jam hospitals in the state.

According to an “emergency order” signed by Commissioner Richard Corcoran, public school districts and charter school boards must open all kindergarten through 12th-grade schools for at least five days a week. Although schools may also offer remote learning, parents must have the option to send their children to a brick and mortar school.

Well obviously. If people have to go back to work they need their state paid for child care.

Florida Church Raided After Selling Bleach as COVID-19 Cure

Authorities conducted a raid Wednesday afternoon at the Genesis II Church of Health and Healing in Florida after the Food and Drug Administration issued an injunction ordering a pastor and his sons to stop distributing of phony COVID-19 cure called “Miracle Mineral Solution.” The solution contains the same amount of chlorine dioxide content as industrial bleach. The pastor, Mark Grenon, was named in the injunction, along with his sons Jonathan Grenon, Jordan Grenon, and Joseph Grenon. The founder of the church, Jim Humble, was formerly a member of the Church of Scientology and believes himself to be a billion-year-old god from Andromeda. Humble has claimed that the Miracle Mineral Solution is the cure to numerous diseases

CDC Will Relax School Reopening Guidelines, Mike Pence Says

President Donald Trump is waging a pressure campaign against state and local governments.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will weaken guidelines for reopening schools that President Donald Trump said were too stringent, Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday.

“The president said today, we just don’t want the guidance to be too tough,” Pence said during a press briefing at the Department of Education. “That’s the reason why next week, the CDC is going to be issuing a new set of tools, five different documents that will be giving even more clarity on the guidance going forward.”

The CDC is under clear pressure from the White House to amend its current nonbinding guidelines for schools, which say, among other things, that teachers and students should wear cloth masks and that desks should be “at least 6 feet apart when feasible.” Trump tweeted earlier Wednesday that he disagreed with the CDC “on their very tough & expensive guidelines for opening schools” and “will be meeting with them!!!” He also threatened to cut off funding to schools if they did not reopen quickly enough, although only Congress has the authority to do so.

56 Florida hospitals hit 100% ICU capacity as DeSantis defends refusal to release coronavirus data
DeSantis broke his vow to release coronavirus hospitalization data as state numbers show hospitals at full capacity. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday defended the state's refusal to release coronavirus hospitalization data as dozens of hospitals in the state reported they had run out of space in their intensive care units amid a dramatic surge in infections.

At least 56 Florida hospitals in 25 different counties have hit 100% ICU capacity, according to overall hospital data released by the state. Another 35 only have 10% or less capacity remaining. In all, the state has just 962 out of a total of 5,023 ICU beds available as infections continue to rise. One expert said contact tracing has become impossible, because here are so many infections now in South Florida.

According to CBC News, the largest hospital in Edmonton has been closed to admissions due to an outbreak of COVID virus there among staff. I wonder what this will mean to the NHL's tentative plans to use Edmonton as a hub city. Winnipeg might look real attractive now. Apparently Las Vegas was on the short list but has been deleted due an outbreak in that city.

I mean, if you're going to unethically profit off of peoples' fears and misinformation, at least dilute it to make it less potent and boost your profits. You want return customers, not dead ones! 🙄

It would appear that there are no lack of gullible people in the US, so you gotta maximize the return on your investments.

Sure, but instead of selling concentrated bleach, why not dilute it with water?

Why even BOTHER with bleach? Why not just straight up lie and sell water? You weren't offering a cure to begin with and wouldn't tap water be the cheaper option anyways?!?
