O'Shea has had a lot of celebratory moments in his career but I would wager none will be as sweet as this one.

During the game they said they asked O'Shea (paraphrasing here) about winning the Grey Cup as a player and assistant and whether winning as HC would be the best. He replayed that it's always better as a player.

The further (in years) that he is from playing that sentiment may change. He's still a young guy so he vividly remembers his playing days.  As HC he is the man in charge. The man who sets the agenda & culture of a team. Players play & coaches coach but Mike can use his head coaching position to see a vision & pursue that. Coaching is way more work so winning a GC ultimately would be much more satisfying.

2010 until present.
10 Grey Cups over the decade. 9 teams. Pretty even over the years.
The results?

Calgary - 132-46-2 record (74%) 2 Grey Cups
Team of the decade?
Calgary appeared in the playoffs every year of the decade. They contested the Grey Cup on five occasions, winning it twice in 2014 & 2018.
They appeared in the playoffs ten times and went 10-7 in playoff games.
Edmonton - 94-86. (52%) 1 Grey Cup
They appeared in the playoffs on seven occasions. Those post-season sojourns saw the Esks go 7-6.
BC - they went 92-88 (51%) 1 Grey Cup
and appeared in the playoffs on eight occasions. They will hope the next decade sees them improve on their 3-7 playoff record over that period.
Hamilton - 88-92. (49%) During that run they appeared in the playoffs on 8 occasions. Hamilton’s post-season record over the decade was 7-8.
Saskatchewan - 87-93. (48%) 1 Grey Cup
They appeared in the playoffs on seven occasions and went 6-6 in those games.
Montreal - 81-99 (45%) 1 Grey Cup
and appeared in the playoffs on six occasions. They went 3-5 in those playoff games. The low point was not making the playoffs from 2015-2018 and going 3-15 in 2017.
Winnipeg - 79-101. (44%) 1 Glorious Grey Cup
Whilst they have had some down seasons, Blue Bomber faithful will have enjoyed the consistency they have shown since 2016 in going 44-28 and finally winning the big one.
Winnipeg appeared in the playoffs 5 times in the 2010’s (4 of those 5 appearances coming in the last 4 years). During that time they have held a playoff record of 5-4.
Toronto - they went 75-105. (42%) 2 Grey Cups
(Going 4-14 in back to back seasons in 2018 & 2019 really hurt those numbers). The Boatmen appeared in the playoffs on five occasions and went 6-3 in those games.
Ottawa - The REDBLACKS only started playing in 2014. However following a 2-16 expansion season they went on a remarkable run.
Between 2015 and 2018 the REDBLACKS made the playoffs every year, contested the Grey Cup on three occasions and won it all in 2016.
Since 2014 Ottawa have compiled a 44-62-2 (42%) record. Poor seasons in 2014 & 2019 have badly affected those numbers.

QFT!

If you are a fan of the ironies of history, here's one for you: the Brits and the Yanks were about even in the war that led to American independence, and about as many colonials were against independence as for it until the British decided  to bring in "contractors"- who were mercenary Germans called Hessians. This angered many of the undecided colonials to the point where they sided with the rebels and the tide of war swung against the Brits.  Now the Americans have been hiring mercenaries that they call "contractors" in Iraq, Syria and  Afghanistan producing the same anger in the locals.  These mercenaries have been recruited from all over the world and are those who have often been dismissed from places like Chechnya, Nigeria and South African armed forces for what would be called war crimes. They are paid much more than US grunts and do not have to adhere to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, resulting in unjustified killings that go unreported.

Yeah, interesting, as so-called "history" and "truth" is rarely, if ever, the same thing. It's hard to know what to believe about anything any more.

Weird. This topic title says "2019 Grey Cup Champions". I must have stumbled in to the USA politics thread.

Or maybe he is the OC and they are bringing in another qb coach? Or just another offensive assistant.

Could be lots of things.

Wouldn't waiting for an " assistant" at any level be more counter productive ?..... how often during a season of work does everybody wait on what an assistant has to say ?
