Let's see if this turns into another edition of "iHeart's right about a thing" even though he unretired

Raiders/Chiefs game  had another pretty aggregious penalty on a Carr tackle

and an immediate dumb comment by Troy McClure Aikman

"My hope is the competition committee looks at this at the next set of meetings, and we take the dresses off," Aikman said."

Fans were disappointed by Aikman using misogynistic phrasing, which wasn't necessary to make the point that defenders now have little recourse to tackle a quarterback legally.

Kari Lake threatens to cancel the Super Bowl if the NFL objects to her immigration policies

In 1990, voters in Arizona defeated a ballot measure that would have designated Martin Luther King Day as a holiday. One of the ensuing consequences for the Grand Canyon State arrived when the National Football League relocated Super Bowl XXVII from Tempe to Pasadena, California in 1993.

"The NFL's decision to move the Super Bowl is believed to be the first time a major sports league reacted to a highly politicized issue by relocating an event," ESPN explained last year.
Now, that ruling by the NFL has reverberated into the 2022 race for the Arizona governorship.  On Sunday, Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake declared at a question-and-answer event that she would be willing to cancel Super Bowl LVII at Glendale's State Farm Stadium in 2023 if the NFL raises objections to her right-wing immigration policy proposals.

NFL and other Murican sports news:

Saw saw some ugly after the play stuff from the Packers yesterday.

also read that players on Michigan state assaulted opposing players in the tunnel after the game

also... KKKyrie  Irvine promoting anti semitism, and same being done at at college game in Fla.

"Kyrie Irving Boosts Antisemitic Movie Peddling ‘Jewish Slave Ships’

The video is based on a venomously antisemitic book which asserts that "many famous high-ranking Jews" have "admitted" to "worship[ing] Satan or Lucifer."

House Report Says Washington Commanders Owner Had Role In ‘Toxic Work Culture'

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Commanders created a “toxic work culture” for more than two decades, “ignoring and downplaying sexual misconduct” by men at the top levels of the organization, according to a report published Thursday by the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform.

Commanders owner Dan Snyder was involved in the misconduct, according to the report, which said he inappropriately touched a former employee at a dinner, had staffers produce a video “of sexually suggestive footage of cheerleaders,” and ordered that women who were auditioning to be cheerleaders walk on the field “while he and his friends gawked from his suite through binoculars.”
Snyder also interfered in what is known as the Wilkinson investigation, which the NFL eventually took over, that stemmed from former employees alleging in 2020 rampant sexual harassment by team executives, the report said. He also had a separate shadow investigation going, which the report said was used by his lawyers to “cast him as the victim of a defamation campaign ... and deflect responsibility for the team’s toxic work culture.”

The team owner also interfered with the House committee’s investigation by “intimidating witnesses,” “refusing to release former employees form their confidentiality obligations” and blocking “the Committee’s access to tens of thousands of documents collected during the Wilkinson Investigation.” When Snyder did testify in a deposition to the committee, the report said, he was evasive and misleading and said more than 100 times that he did not recall things.

The NFL is not shielded from criticism in the report, which says the league “misled the public about its handling of the Wilkinson Investigation,” “continues to minimize workplace misconduct across the league,” “has not protected workers from sexual harassment and abuse,” and “has not sought true accountability for those responsible.”

As fans, we forget how players put their bodies on the line on every play. These guys play hard & bad things can happen so quickly on the field. Football isn't a contact sport. It's a collision sport & the physical dangers that come with that. Much respect to the courage it takes for each man on every team to play the game at the pro level. My prayers go out to Damar Hamlin that he survives & has a full recovery.
