GDT: Bombers vs Ottawa

Lapo needed to let Streveler play with a real game plan. Handing off every first down is not a good way to make it easier on your young qb. That just puts him in more 2nd and longs. I thought he was OK apart from a couple plays, just didn't have a game plan to showcase him. It was all about the classic Lapo play it safe and punt game plan with a lead.

D was dominant, especially the defensive line. Ottawa just just chucking and hoping for the best all night.

When Nichols was in Lapo was good Lapo, after he went out he went into his shell.

You better hope Shreveller doesn't have to start any games. He was bad. Luckily you ahead enough that he could just run around plus the beautiful call when Medlock kicked the ball out of bounds.  But yes you are right Ottawa isn't very good and we should have never lost against them

Go pound sand. Streveler was fine. Executed the plays that were called. You must have a special definition of Kicked in saskatchewan. Sliding and hitting it with his knee doesnt qualify as kicking in the rest of the world.

Yeah but you're not getting it right....insult other posters....argument lost.....Guess you....unlike the Bombers...... like to lose

No sometimes people just say stupid **** and deserve to be called a moron. 1 touchdown against in 3 games and you come in here talking about giving up points and yards not mattering... get your head out of your ass. You said a profoundly stupid thing and were rightly called on it.

Absolute domination until a tipped pass by our backup qb turned into a pick and dropped pass by our kick returner turned into a td.

Great game by Nichols until the bonehead play.

The defence was AWESOME, fenner had a huge bounce back game.

why would we ever listen to what a rider fan thinks, they are delusional.

Really happy Willie J realized which team he could win with though.

This team isn't going to routinely blow anyone out of the water, they are just not coached that way, however they will wear down their opponents and win routinely, even if it does shaves years off our lives watching them do it.

This is a good football team that plays a hard game and beats up their opponents. We need to take a step back and appreciate it sometimes. forget the yardage gained or given up, just watch the battle level of this team. These guys are punishing every play of the game.

What has Nelson done to make him good? You liking him doesn't count.

Did you watch him in the B.C. game especially? He is VERY good at setting up his return. This guy has obviously done this before.

Y'know, the coaches that make personnel decisions aren't dummies. We have him back there for a reason. I was expecting him to break one tonight. Didn't happen, but if we keep giving him chances, it will.

I dare say that if Nichols could have  stayed in the game, likely the turnovers don’t happen, and they hang 40 on Ottawa.

First of all great game.....our D up front is the best in the league ...no doubt BUT opposition qbs. seem to be able to move at will against our secondary...Not convinced we are a complete team until we get these guys to play a receiver closer and for cripes sake add something to stop a drive....Not taking away the pic by Rose/Fenner but they were getting beat badly all night...as well as our other guys in the secondary...Is it Ritchie Hall's old style play calling of playing too far off a receiver...If it is it has to be corrected.....Otherwise we were lights out and I can see this club going a long way this season...

All DBs get beat. It is EXTREMELY difficult to cover a receiver on a big field. All I can say is it looks easy from up in the stands or on TV but in real life, man, it's tough. Some guys can do it, in their prime, for a while, but sooner or later you're going to get beat. I don't think our DBs are any worse than anyone else's.

They were making big plays....and that's the problem...I didn't see a shut down secondary ....sorry

Sorry, how many TDs did they score again? How many yards passing? Coverage was so good at times Ottawa got called for a push-off.

I can name a few guys that are beginning to look like Carmichael...Fenner being one of them...and if you think that he was playing adequate that last 3 games...I don't see it that way

Maybe you're thinking of Alexander. Anyways, we are only 3 games in. We'll get better. It's going to be a fun year. :-)

Not sure how he was bad based on running the crap calls given to him..still ate up clock and preserved the win.

And you should never have lost against them??..why..maybe you should grasp the reality that maybe you guys aren't as good as you think you are, though a losing record against all eastern teams and only win against the lowly argos shouldn't give you a feeling of being a good team by any stretch of imagination...especially with no QB..and yes you still have no QB..a career already 27 yr old 2nd/3rd stringer who had some numbers against crap defenses so far..like Davis..his true worth will be seen against real defenses..and it will be less than inspiring...just like his 9 of 17 for 66 yards gem against Hamilton..an actual halfway decent defense.

And dont go off saying he wasnt the game planned starter so the scheme and offence didnt suit him or some other drivel you try to spin when the raw rookie came in and went 8 of 14 for 128 and moved your pop gun offence

Complete domination by the Bombers tonight.  The interception and fumble allowed the Redblacks to hang around, but they couldn't get their offense going so it didn't matter.

Our defense is phenomenal. Really impressed with how they handled Davis tonight, and that is without Bighill.

The offense was much better too. As bad as Nichols was last week, he was really solid tonight.  Accuracy was much improved. Stretched the field, controlled the game.  A tough break to get hurt after finally getting in the groove.  Streveler was a bit more up and down but the offensive gameplan really seemed to change too. Much more run-oriented by that point.

I would really like to see more of Streveler with a offensive package designed to his strengths -- lots of shotgun, quick hitters, no huddle, and of course, a green light to take off with it whenever he feels the urge. It would drive defenses insane. A two-headed dragon like that, with Nichols methodical, game manager approach as a change of pace, would completely discombobulate any defense.

What game were you watching? Nichols had that game we were up big before he went out.

and like what yardage? Are you people delusional? It’s pro football the other team is going to make plays.

Jesus Christ this team has given up one defensive touchdown and was in complete control until we lost our starting qb
