Signing DeMelo helps a lot.

Free Agent wise:

Alex Pietrangelo - 30 years old

Justin Schultz - 29

Tyson Barrie - 28

Tory Krug - 29

Sami Vatanen - 29

Cody Ceci - 26

Travis Hamonic - 29

I’d take Ceci or Hamonic - everyone else is meh for their price

Free Agent Centers

Nick Backstrom - 32, $6.7 million

Eric Huala - 29. $2.75 million

Derick Brassard - 32, $1.2 million

Joe Thornton - 40

Yup, pretty thin.  Pageau was the guy.

I'm not sure about Pageau. He's having a career season in a contract year. He's going to get a big contract this summer, and I'm not sure he'll live up to it.

I’d definitely take AP if we could lower his salary and length of contract expectations. I’d guess he’s got a good 3 to 5 quality years left in him but I’m sure some team will give him exactly what he wants that we can’t afford.

Hamonic is a no brainer and I hope the Jets can land him. Vatanen could be a nice acquisition for the right price and term. The blue line is the primary focus in the off-season, IMO.

We’re getting pretty populated with under sized D... I’d pass on Vatanen

You know they're going to re-sign Kulikov.

I doubt it. I think they'll look at the body of work, his injury history and pass. They took a chance when signing him, hoping he could stay healthy as a solid depth defenseman to play on the third pairing but able to step up when needed. He just can't stay healthy enough and his game has dropped off.

We also only have 7 guys with more than 6 goals, so we don't have a ton of depth scoring either.

Haha... that's a good way to manipulate stats

You're upset that only 7 Jets have 10 goals or more... in a year where we've lost three of our starting top nine and none of the guys with 6 or less goals have actually played anything close to the full season
