2. Alex Pietrangelo, D, St. Louis Blues
Age: 29
2019-20 cap hit: $6.5 million
One season after leading the Blues to the Stanley Cup, Pietrangelo is putting up career-high numbers (13 goals and 44 points through 56 games – already better than last season’s totals) and is a huge reason why they’re a strong contender to run it back. With early-season reports indicating Pietrangelo would be in line for a deal around the $8 million/year mark, how much is he worth now?

4. Torey Krug, D, Boston Bruins
Age: 28
2019-20 cap hit: $5.25 million
He’s one of the league’s best offensive defencemen with plenty of sandpaper in his game. In other words, should Krug hit the open market, there would be a mile-long lineup of GMs vying for his services. Krug told ESPN’s Emily Kaplan back in September that he’d be “interested in” taking less money to remain in Boston.

The Bruins could find themselves in a tough spot with expansion draft considerations among skaters – especially considering they locked up forward Charlie Coyle earlier this season.

5. Tyson Barrie, D, Toronto Maple Leafs
Age: 28
2019-20 cap hit: $5.5 million (this AAV is split between Colorado and Toronto)
His time in Toronto got off to a rocky start, but Barrie’s been looking much more like the offensive-minded defencemen the Maple Leafs thought they were getting since Sheldon Keefe took over. Toronto has a long list of questions on the blue line, and Barrie’s one of them.

8. Jake Muzzin, D, Toronto Maple Leafs
Age: 30
2019-20 cap hit: $4 million
Muzzin had been excellent on the Maple Leafs’ blue line before a broken foot sidelined him for a month. Now he’s back, and he’s got an old friend in the lineup, too, after the Maple Leafs traded for Kings forward Kyle Clifford.

15. Travis Hamonic, D, Calgary Flames
Age: 29
2019-20 cap hit: $3.857 million
Though injured now, the stay-at-home d-man looks like a safe bet to stay in Calgary long-term.

16. T.J. Brodie, D, Calgary Flames
Age: 29
2019-20 cap hit: $4.65 million
Brodie’s name has been in trade rumours before, but injuries to fellow blue liners Travis Hamonic and Mark Giordano make him in pretty indispensable as far as deadline deals go.

So the feeling is hamonic stays in Calgary.

St. Louis won’t trade him to the jets but should we take a run at pietrangelo in the offseason?  Offer him buff’s money?

Calgary D is like Winnipeg last spring, decimated due to injury so I doubt they trade any of their UFA D and they'll pay for it just like Chevy.

Kane is right but not right too.  He thinks his argument is other elbows don’t get suspended so his shouldnt when they real argument is his deserved to get suspended so others should.

He deserves it.  And he seems to be implying that he saw what others get away with so chose to play that way.  Which makes him a real piece of crap.
