Nathan Beaulieu sucked balls and came to Winnipeg and seemed to fit in well and looked competent.   I'll give the new guy the benefit of the doubt and would temper my expectations on him being maybe a 3rd line pairing /  injury depth kind of guy.

Low expectations and small sample sizes are a hell of a drug.

Whatever. Kid was pushed into a top pairing role on a crap team. Give him a chance on a decent structure and he'll probably be a fine 2nd/3rd pairing defenseman like we need and can afford.

Couldn't pay Trouba, so not sure why everyone thinks we would want a Trouba in exchange??

Beaulieu is pretty Grant Clitsome to me. Hes ok but we can do much better.

Id give him a year tho and move on from Benny and Morrow. Benny gonna get overpaid. Morrow just isnt good enough.

Trouba leaving was about money? Say whaaaat?

Obviously, he didn't want to be here. But, they don't have cap space to pay for everyone, so you couldn't bring back a player that was going to make $6+ million per year.

I'm sure they would have paid Trouba $7M but they would have had to trade someone else, like Little, Perreault, and another.

This guy doesn't seem to like the Jets very much...

Montreal should take advantage of Winnipeg’s mistakes and trade for Nikolaj Ehlers

The Jets are spiraling toward a directionless disaster, and Montreal should pounce.

There does not seem to be much positive news on the front of re-signing Patrik Laine. The Finnish sniper heads into contract discussions this summer. While his situation is very unique, the lack of real news on this is slightly concerning, especially given his struggles this year for long stretches. Normally this could be downplayed as normal, but tough contract talks between the two sides and recent Jets moves cast a long shadow over this situation.

Jacob Trouba was just traded to the New York Rangers for a 2019 first-round pick and bottom-pairing defenceman Neal Pionk. That’s it. Not only is it an underwhelming return for arguably the Jets’ most valuable asset, but according to Elliotte Friedman, other teams offered better deals, and this is what Kevin Cheveldayoff decided on.

To cap all of this off, according to The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun, the Jets are also listening to offers on star winger Nikolaj Ehlers. Quite frankly, if the Winnipeg Jets are hell-bent on trading all of their best young assets away, Marc Bergevin should put in a call and see if he can’t wrest the Danish speedster away from Manitoba.

Ehlers is one of the Jets’ best forwards, and one of the few who seemed to spark any life in the offence when he was in the lineup. A big part of Winnipeg’s slump came with the Danish winger on the IR after suffering an injury, and by the time he returned it seemed far too late to pull the ship back on course.

I gotta call B.S on the better deals were out there???? We hear that Trouba would not sign with anyone but the 2 teams he wanted to play on...Chevy' s hands were tied.. should of made that ass sit for a year...but Chevy got something back after Trouba tried to screw us..again.

Roslo for Poolparty :P

As for Laine I thought we should bridge him.

Dumb on both things

Bridge a guy at 7.5 so in 2 years u gonna pay him 11 or 12? Give him his 9 9.5 long term now.

Why do we need Pulju. Rumors are we are trading a winger. We dont need a guy who doesnt make our top 9.
