Yeah there were real D problems from the start...  but our offence really did dry up after Hayes it seems

Really think Muzzin was what was really needed

That and balking at Roslo for Stone seems absolutely insane now

I haven't been impressed with our GM for the last calendar year. More misses than hits for his moves.

Maurice does not have good and bad years...  we made the playoffs in 2014 because of all the injuries not inspite of them...  Maurice had to simplify his hybrid D system

We got worse but he used the 'young team' excuse which is still trotted out...

Last year, Helle was on fire but Jets were still allowing a ton of shots... just a bit more from the perimeter - still in the end, the Jets were beaten by a less talented team who played a better system - same as this year...

Friesen absolutely had it coming. Don't forget the Bombers banned him not that long ago....

He had it coming agreed... but 10 shots is no one's 'best'

If this team gets away with saying the Blues were just 'better', its a joke...  the Blues just wanted it more - Jets looked disorganized and distinterested - two blown third period leads...

Heat of the moment Q and A should be taken with a grain of salt but that's a weak answer from Wheeler. "Sports is hard..the other team wants to win too" might sound reasonable but you keep that to yourself and say "we didn't get the job done" or some such and end it.

I can agree with this.

so here's what FotWJ has to say about contracts coming up:

These are the Jets RFA's & UFA's

Among the RFA's Trouba is the big question mark. The Jets are not going to allow him to walk away after next season and it seems the Jets and Trouba's agent have until the draft to work out a long term deal. if not, a trade is very likely.

With the UFA's many will be gone.
Unlikely the Jets can afford Myers & Hayes next season.
Tanev and Chiarot will be at the top of the list to resign but both could opt for free agency and get more from another team. Of the other NHL experienced UFA's Lindholm is a possibility to resign.

With serious cap issues next season, the Jets need players still on ELC's. Poolman, Niku, Vesalainen and Appleton fit that bill. Roslovic should get a regular spot in the lineup
Mathieu Perreault while having a modified no trade clause, may still be on the trade block as they look to save on his 4.25 million salary.

It will be an interesting off season and the benefit of being out early is more time to negotiate with the free agents.

Its apparent the last second goal in game 5 was something that ended their hopes. I think choking away another lead did them in... They half said that also so that's a problem then with coaching and leadership. Maurice has said many times there a certain guys he doesn't coach and he lets them run the room ( 55 26 33)

So this likely leads to problems also.. Especially if an issue was ice time distribution or the 55 26 never breaking up problem.

Maurice needs to go.. For a few reasons but the main one is hes lost the room and once that happens its over... Also 6 straight home playoff losses doesn't help his cause either and gassing our top lines out then saying they were gassed.

As for Wheelers F off remarks.. Not very captain like but Wheeler has been a big crybaby with the media for a while now... Its almost like he cant accept criticism. Ego is a problem

Wheeler has been very defensive with the media the last year or so now which is odd since generally they ask softball questions. Not that its relevant but he also recently deleted his Twitter account. Theres problems for sure here with the room.

Have to say that the post-season interviews are not inspiring...  I'd rather here that Laine is hitting the gym and working on his game... or here more urgency/anger from the players instead of Blues were a bit better, its tough, we were injured...

That's exactly what I heard. Poor us. we did our best. It's really hard. Boo hoo.

Seems like it's a Winnipeg pro sport team style.

Do not ever admit that you didn't play that well. Didn't earn your millions of dollars paycheque.

Andrew Harris, one of the guys who never lacks for spirit, and effort, is not afraid to take personal responsibility after a loss, to say he should have played better.

One of the reasons fans admire him so much.

My level of respect for some of the Jets players has gone down a lot after this season. With this attitude, expect the same result next season.
