man what the hell is up with helle lately? The jets are playing better today but Helle isn't. It's like the hockey fates are making them pay for the 8 hat tricks scored this season

Hes a 930 goalie the last 25 plus games. Blues had almost 40 shots again. Jets need to shoot more. Yeah he let in a bad one but.. Jets cant score. 4 goals in 2 games isnt gonna win u games. Overplaying 55 26 is not helping. Putting this on goaltending when our best O player this series Laine gets 4 shifts a period is insane.

Its time for 29 55 26 again.

They had 32 shots, three more than us. Three of four goals were wrists shots from no closer than the faceoff dot. Only one of them had even a hint of a screen. Those are shots an NHL goalie needs to stop.

I didn't expect this, but a lot of Jets fans are not surprised.

Saw very little in the way of Jets flags, and other such stuff, while driving around Wpg yesterday.

You have to credit Berube for what he's done with the Blues.

And Laine has played well.

4 goals in 2 games. Half by Laine.

Ice time distribution just brutal. 21 for Connor. 15 for Lindholm. 8 each for Hayes and Ehlers.

10 2 on 1s a game still cuz our D pinches at bad times and the forward dont back him up.

Goaltending? Sure. But the same problems this team had had since Jan 1st is whats really killing them.

St.Louis's effort level is incredible. They're winning most of the puck battles, and both their forechecking and backchecking is giving us no time to make a play.

AFAIK they did not extend Berube as of yet....

Its cuz their D are big boys. Watch a guy like Connor, just pushed around. We are playing dump n chase vs a team who has large D men who are much heavier than our forwards.

Ppl have this idea we are big n fast but.  Its more a skill team with speed. Wheeler Buff Lowry is our size. Laine is 6 5. Myers 6 7 but they aren't exactly bruisers out there. The St Louis D is punishing our forwards and winning every battle possible. The first period of game 1 was a blueprint of how to beat st Louis.. No dump n chase... We got away from it. All that talk of size yet Tanev just set our record for most hits in a season.

FWIW they averaged 3.1 goals per game in last year's playoff run - 53 goals in 17 games.

Basically, scoring at last year's rate would have gotten them into OT - with the shaky goal tending and puck possession we saw last night - I do not like their chances in OT.  You don't win playoff games when your goalie is letting in wrist shots from the face off circle.

Last years team is so far gone its pointless to even mention them.

The Jets have big players.... Wheeler 225, Sheiflele, Lowry, Chiarot, Buff. Little.

That's not what the problem is.

Maybe they actually  thought they could "flip the switch" and are finding out that that is b.s.

They were freaking out last night, Scheifele taking two penalties in a couple of minutes, stupid ones at that. They've lost it.

Wheeler Scheiif Little dont use their bodiies to punish ppl like St Louis does.

6 5 parayko 220 pounds vs 6 foot 170 pound Connor. Wonder who wins those board battles

Heres how i see it and why I think there are tons of coaching issues. Lets pretend for a minute the series is 1 1. Cool right but the problem truly lies in not winning just 1 game but winning 16 to win the ultimate prize. Playing 3 guys 20 plus a night and everyone else 5 6 7 10 minutes less might win u a game or 2 here and there but u certainly aren't winning 16. Ice time is a massive problem... Huge issue. Gassing 1 line won't win u 16 games.

Talking D tho. Love Morrissey(not so much since he came back) but he's on the lighter side as far as D go.

Friday Night Notables...

Byfuglien back on top PP unit - had 2 points

Jets have lost 5 in a row at home

Jets have lost 4 straight playoff games at home

If you check some stats - most (if not all) teams play their best forwards about 20 minutes per game, give or take.

The Jets are really not any different.

Actually, total goals scored in the regular season are almost identical.

Last years team had better overall fancy stats.. Its not close.. Last years team destroys us 4 0. Or 4 1 cuz hard to win 4 straight now a days.

Im aware but scheif Wheeler and connor are not our best forwards. Some nights they are.. Most nights arent.. We are supposed to be this 4 line deep team.. Remember hayes signed so little could to 3 C but.. He played wing, now back to center tho.. Copp Little Laine has been our best Offensive zone line.. They are owning the blues.. CSW gets the ice.

Im not making **** up.. Facts.. All the fancy stats tell u CSW has not been good. They give up way more than they produce. You run the horses who are going that night.. U don't run guys who at times, lots of times, look like they Don't give a crap

We have 4 lines or potential for 4 very good lines.. We run 1 in to the ground nightly while the other 3.. Every 5 games they switch em up but keep 55 and 26 together.. Sorry its a massive problem. Ppl going on about lockerroom issues.. Theres a Huge one.  There is zero repercussions. Problem.

Its clear Maurice has no more ideas. Cuz same old.. Odd line combos for sure. Oh well.. The exit interviews will be fun.
