If Ehlers finishes we win this game.

Can't believe how quickly they reviewed the coach's challenge on the disallowed goal.

Connor had a couple of great chances too.

That was definitely a goal; the refs blew the call and the review just wanted to sweep it under the rug.

For the most part, we outplayed the Caps, but couldn't cash in on our chances... Especially on the PP.  I agree with others, that there needs to be a wrinkle added, at least.

Made Ovi a non factor that's for sure.

I'm more concerned with our PK than our PP especially heading into crunch time.

Ovi no points...how we not win?

lots of chances, no scoring.  That 5-3 was just so freaking lame.  It was down to a 5 on 2.5 with Niskanen getting dead-legged by Laine's shot.  So what does Wheeler do, he flips a weak wrist shot on goal and gives Washington a break.  I don't get it.  Sometimes I wonder what is going on in Wheels' head.

Scheifele has been floating now for 3 months... Jets are 15 13 2 since Dec 23rd.

Why break up Scheif and Wheeler? Cuz despite empty net and PP points.. They have been terrible together this season.

Talking about points? Man.. Does anybody actually watch the game or look at the points a guy gets and goes ahh He Was good.

Scheifele and Wheeler are floating.. They rarely to never hustle back to play D either... Scheif has been MIA for a couple months now.. His fancy stats dont lie... Hes not playing well and him and Wheeler together.. Yeah they put up points.. But... They also are on the ice when the other team scores also.. Actually Scheif and Wheeler and throw in every linemate except Ehlers... And that line might score But They give up more.

If anyone thinks Scheifele and Wheeler are playing good enough together.. Watch closer.

The emotionally charged posting is comical, especially when it involves telling others to watch closer. Your chicken little hyperbole is mired in ignorance, seemingly of the wilful variety. And the lack of posting any stats whatsoever would indicate you should take your own advice.

Of Scheifele's 32 goals, 23 are EV. Of his 43 assists, 29 are EV. Of Wheeler's 19 goals, 15 are EV. Of his 64 assists, 37 are EV. Of those 158 combined points, 104 are EV (65.8%). In other words, nearly 2/3 of their combined production takes place at even strength. This while having a revolving door of wingers opposite Wheeler.

Nobody will argue the forwards are not playing as well defensively as last season* but the notion the top line has been terrible is absolute nonsense. It's almost like the rest of league took notice of how good the Jets are after a record campaign and now they have a bigger target on their backs. Imagine that.

Go ahead and dump on #55 but he's still on pace for a career season. In the last two months (Jan. 10 - Mar. 10), Scheifele has played 26 games. In that span, he has 9 goals (7 EV, 2 PP), 13 assists (11 EV, 2 PP), for 22 points, with a 14.3 S%. Granted, he's a -2 during that span, so there's no doubt he's struggled. My one "gripe" with him, if there is one, is this: faceoffs.

He'll need to be better come the playoffs, along with his linemates and teammates, but to suggest he's been terrible is a disingenuous overreaction.

* (worse than last season =/= terrible)

FWIW even Mike Mc at the WFP is pointing fingers at Schief.

And rightfully so; valid criticism is reasonable. The top line has struggled at times this season, which bears out in the analytics compared to 2017-18.

What does that have to do with the claim Scheifele (or Wheeler) has been terrible, though?

Mike said the last game was his worst of the season.

Mark Scheifele has played some terrific hockey for the Jets this season. But Sunday night might have been the worst game of his season. He was a mess in both ends of the rink, and it makes you wonder if he's been stricken with the bug that's been making its way around the Jets' room for the past couple months. It sure looked like it.

The full quote seems reasonable enough.
