Riders @ Stampeders

Don't know who Jones is going to put behind center for SSK today (I assume it's Collaros), but whoever it is, Claybrooks needs to blitz them heavy and cause them to fold like a tent.  Finish SSK off so we can go knocking em right off of second place next week when we upset CGY.

Go Stamps 27-6 score I'm calling.

CFL Game #82 Notes & Trends - Calgary vs Saskatchewan:

Both teams Off a Loss: This Calgary-Saskatchewan matchup will be the first time in over 6 years that BOTH clubs will be coming off a loss. That game was on August 25, 2012 and it is even more unusual that they rank #1-2 in the West in doing so.

Season Series / 1st Place: Both are on the line in this game and a win is the Riders' only chance to keep their hopes alive for a bye into the Western Final. They split two meetings in Regina to tie the series and must win in Calgary by any margin. After a 10- game losing streak to Calgary they have won 2 of the last 3 meetings including a 30-7 victory at McMahon in their last visit.

Shutout last week: The Riders failed to score at Winnipeg and were shut out for the first time since a 24-0 defeat to Edmonton on Jul 26/14. They were held to season-lows of 170 yards and 12 first downs last week and ran just 6 offensive plays in Winnipeg's end of the field. The 170 yards was their lowest Net Offence since Sep 12/15, also vs Winnipeg (169 yds).

CFL Tackles Lead at 101: By way of season-long stats review conducted last week across all 69 games to date, a number of plays were changed to reflect totally accurate Tackle counts. Also, a Calgary request resulted in a change for Alex Singleton who received one additional stop from last week's game. Singleton and Adam Bighill therefore both enter this week with 101 tackles each.

Offensive TDs - 22 vs 41 in 2017: The Riders are #8 with just 22 TD drives to Week #18 and have now gone their last 35 possessions without a Touchdown. After 15 games last year, Saskatchewan had 41 TDs on Offence.

Micah Johnson - More every year: Comes into this game in the midst of 6-game stretch with 7 Sacks and has one in each of the last 3 games. He is up to #2 in the CFL with 11 which has extended his unique career feat. Johnson has increased his Sack total in every season of his career - 2, 3, 6, 7, 9 & 11, and is up to 38 in a total of 78 games.

 Bo Levi Mitchell: Needs to average 216.3 passing yards per game to reach 5,000 for the second time in his career. In 2018, he is #3 in yards per game 290.1 on pace for 5,221, 164 short of his career-best (5,385 in 2016). He needs to win this week to avoid having back-to-back losses for just the second time in his CFL career.

 Mitchell All-Time QB Win %: After last week's defeat, Bo Levi Mitchell's career winning % is now 68-13 .831 with a 12-3 .800 mark in 2018. Mitchell's all-time record as a starter at McMahon Stadium is now 38-5 .884 after the loss to BC

 No TDs or FG Attempts: The Riders did not have either a TD or even a field goal attempt last week. A first since 2014.

Terry Williams: Leads the CFL in punt return average at 13.3 yards and in kick return TDs with 3.

Hopefully we can take advantage of a Charleston Hughes absence and shut down the Riders like the Bombers did last week. Bonus points if we can give them the goose egg too. We’d clinch the division with a win here

Go Stamps!

Wait the Stamps have fans?

Lol just messin wit ya bro, good luck out there today.

Fraser, that's not Charleston Hughes. It is another player from decades ago.

Classy move be benching Charleston Hughes. Too bad it sounds like front office/ the league had to mandate it.

Edit* Jones is wearing a Hughes shirt. What an idiot.

Wow where have you been the last 8 games lol!

A perfect example of why I hate Saskatchewan. That illegal contact on a receiver penalty to extend the Rider drive was pure, unadulterated bullshit. Receiver ran to the back, initiated contact and fell down, and the official throws the flag just as Calgary sacks Collaros to force 3rd down. Just sickening.

Stamps rapidly losing their mojo. They don't look good at all in the second quarter.

BLM is awful. Calgary discombobulated out there.

The Panel talking about Hughes and the charges. Barker is right, how does Sask get away with saying Hughes is playing and has him practicing all week and Jones saying he is playing on Wednesday and then suddenly, likely after league intervention, has him not playing on Thursday. What a scumbag organization.

Wow. Dickenson shaking his head at the officials because they won't call anything against Sask. Of course, Suitor is up in arms even though he admits he pushed off. Sad, sad, sad.
