Throwing 5 ints between the two QB's isn't a reflection of LaPo IMO....

It's a reflection of how stagnant the offense is.  The opposing D knows where the ball is going and are often waiting for it.  Lapo doesn't trust Nichols clearly, we've seen him dumb down gameplans for QB's before and go super conservative like this.  The RedZone offense is horrendous.  No Harris, no Streveler, no run game, no misdirection.  Sask scored more points off our RedZone possessions than we did.

There was nothing in the gameplan for Streveler.  He was running the same stuff, no read options, nothing to use his mobility and running ability, one rollout play which was a big pass play to Petermann.  Is he going to put together a competent gameplan for Streveler to give him the best chance to succeed?

On Streveler's first INT there were two receivers in the route, on that side of the field, the play side.  There were 6 Riders.  It was a straight drop back.  That's not setting up a rookie QB for success.  That's not setting up any QB for success.  That's setting up a QB to get sacked, throw it away or turn it over.

Lapo needs to go.

The one thing the bombers have going for them is the ineptitude of the east.

Firing O'shea pretty much throws in the towel on the year and while I don't know if he should be back next year he does get the chance to limp in through the east.

Yeah its ugly but ultimately we are in a playoff spot right now and that has to be taken into account.

The problem is if we win an eastern playoff game. Then it's a real question

Similar situation as 2011 with LaPo.....team limbs into the GC....when LaPo should have been gunned....he gets an extension and gets fired part  way thru 2012.

Similar in that Lapo is in charge of the offense and it's terrible.  Where's Gary Crowton?  Couldn't hire an OC when Lapo was coach because they knew they'd get overruled and have to run his bullshit.

No we dont' fire O'Shea....   Hall is canned for sure.   LaPo... not sure yet.  I'd like to see what he does with Streveler starting.   TBD on LaPo.   If he fails with Streveler then Lapo can also go.

AFter the last few games whey is hall gone and Lapo a maybe? Hall has been way way better this stretch than Lapo has. Lapo has sucked the life out of the offense and both qbs. He's coaching to not lose which is dragging this team down into the depths of hell, just like he did the last two times we fired him.

Hall's scheme is what sucks... not the players.  We bring in Bighill who is absolutely amazing and we still have issues.

For LaPo we are getting better results with a raw rookie then the veteran QB.   Running the same plays with the same players.    A noticeable difference between how the offense functions with Streveler in.   That issue is a player issue.  Even yourself you keep saying the receivers are dropping balls.   This isn't an issue with the scheme.

Why? Does MOS strike you as an intelligent person?

You're really asking why? He strikes me as a human being who deserves respect and not be insulted for his intellect. You can criticize his coaching but his intelligence? Be better as the US first lady would say. And even if its directed at his football intellect that Whiteout clarified, my educated guess he knows a few things about football but that doesn't guarantee anything in being a successful coach.

And in any game we've had reasonable offense the D has been more than adequate.

If he's low football IQ, what does that say about you? He's forgotten more about football then you'll ever know.

Having said that I'm not sure he should be back here.

No question every pro coach knows way more about football than any of us on this board. For real. But, it’s about comparing our coaches to the other CFL coaches. And right now, they’re being out coached by basically every other coach. I can’t stand Chris Jones, but man, he and his staff have them playing well

It's an issue with the play calling. It's terrible. Lapo is far worse than Hall at this point in the season. Halls defense deserved to win the last 2 game for sure and I'd argue they did enough in Calgary with any support from the offense.

And in BC where literally 2 first downs in the fourth quarter on any of 3 drives would have ended the game.  No offense for a whole half.  Happens far too often.

Really the worst coaching decision made was starting Nichols.  There's a 17 point handicap in each of the last two weeks.  Chris Jones didn't do anything to earn that.
