Duron Carter Kicked Off The Farm

I don't think it is a good comparison. Bowman was really good off the field saying all the right things, recommitting to the team but terrible on the field. Bowman looked better in Montreal in one game than here in how many it was. He didn't get too many targets here but when he did he messed up too many.

This is the same Bowman that had basically had two fumbles (if he wasn't lucky with his helmet before), right? His debut stat line for Montreal:

4 catches on 6 targets for 40 yards. He also had a fumble, and a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty.

Yeah, he can be a team player all he wants, but I'm glad we torpedo'd him.

So, by your "logic", Toronto is elite.  You might want to become a bit more familiar with the concept of the past not being the present.   Glad to see that you're not making your trolling quite so blatant as before.

My personal logic tells me not to use the term "elite" at all for any of the cfl teams.  I thought the term was used for teams like the New York islanders when they won four straight....,,, or a team like the patriots who have repeated the past by continuing to win championships....... for me just being at the top of the standings does not even necessarily earn the term, which toronto did prove to us last season.

And as for your trolling bash I find that hilarious.   somebody has a different opinion ...and then somebody does not like it so they automatically resort to calling others trolls.

And if yer a regular from that other board don't you find it funny that I commented way back ....that I didn't think Matty was very good with the long passes, and that he was not a very good scrambler.....you can actually say these things here without anyone getting agitated.

That is too much to pay. Would you pay someone to stab you in the back at every chance?

Free is too much to pay?

Oh, I see. 😏

calgary is certainly an elite regular season team. But yeah this is not an era dominated (in grey cups) by any elite team or teams. I dont know if its the salary cap bringing parity, or just that the qb talent has spread it self fairly evenly across the league.

Also any one short of a deep ball specialist (and even then to an extent) is going to struggle when they throw that many balls deep down field with such regularity. The defense knows its coming after a while, and even if you run it well its such a lower percentage pass the deeper you go that it will take your offense out of any rhythm and stall drives.

Not until they win a cup.

Oh FFS, here we go again with your stupid rhetoric.  We'd all like a Grey Cup but only one team wins a year,  How is Calgary an elite team? I know you think the Stamps are elite. They have no character. They quit when the going gets tough. They panic & make mistakes when the championship is on the line. They can't walk the talk. They rack up these monster regular seasons winning 14 & 15 games a year & then lose to teams that won only half the number of games they did in the Grey Cup. Or they choke in the playoffs & don't even make it to the Grey Cup. How is that elite? What about the Argos??? They won the Grey Cup 9 months ago so they're still an elite team, according to you. Get real.

The question is who he will replace in your lineup.  Saunders, Banks and Williams are solid 123. One of Tasker and Toliver should give way to Carter, if that's the plan.

Saunders might be dinged, rumored groin pull.Tolliver hasnt been right since return from injury.

#Alouettes HC Mike Sherman tells #TSN690 there will be "no further discussions" on bringing back #DuronCarter. #CFL

Interesting I would have thought that would be his landing spot. I doubt Wally will even consider him and I think Ottawa will not be interested so that just leaves Toronto. Or maybe no home for him period.

On the contrary, Wally is interested but Hervey is not.

Yeah, Argos is the only team left as a landing spot.

I'm late to the party but from what I can gather it seems Carter was Jones pet project and was released because O.C. McAdoo didn't have the tolerance to babysit him or put up with his lack of discipline and antics on offence, this would explain why he spent most of the season playing D.B.  Under those circumstances after they brought in a couple of decent D.B. prospects last week there was no logical reason to retain him or his larger salary.  Jones gave Carter a chance to mature but it just wasn't within his wheelhouse to do so.

Thing is tho..they ate 75k up front already and 7 game cheques on his remaining 69k of what was reported 144k in hard money for the year ..so add like roughly 27k for his games this year to the 75k bonus and he has absorbed 102k of this years SMS and they save 42k...hardly a savings at all when you really look at it.

102k basically wasted on a guy dumped not even at midway point and in the process sounds like some nice fracturing of club house and doubts about their coaching....well done Mr Jones...its is a real gong show there.

I don't know how you can blame Mr. Jones. It was cruel to force him to take on 4 different jobs at one time.
