Jets still wanted to clear space regardless.  Might they have kept them? Maybe. But there was no guarantee. They had to make moves to even be on the conversation. 

Its not like they can’t go out and get replacements.

No. They needed to shed cap and likely still do

Dumping Mason was the easiest decision...  4 million and can be replaced for a guy at around 1.5 for a year.      Long term guys like Roslo, Poolman,  Vesa will replace pricier guys like Kulikov,  Perreault and Armia.  The Jets are in a good place for a few years!

Next year Wheeler Laine Connor need new deals. Cap will go up but... They will likely need to move Perreault and Myers still

I think you can and should as they are depth... Poolman can replace myers.. 1 of the kids can replace Perreault who sucked last year.
