Predictions:

Streveler is third string out of camp

Wild gets cut in our salary saving move because JSK can’t be held off the field

Simonise starts the year at WR, Wolitarsky  gives Demski a tough battle in the slot.

Flanders ends up as a Rider and we all hate it

Tony Stevens ends up as the receiver we all want to see getting playing time

Gause wins the MLB job

Surprise cut #2 will be Drake Nevis

Well Steveler is already third string. Nailed that one

Some quarterbacks have actually started and succeeded in their rookie year. I just checked Ricky Ray (bad example maybe) played most of the season in his rookie year.

Ray and maas swapped halfs. Iirc ray was great in the first half but couldnt finish games so maas would come in and do clean up.

True. But VERY few.  Ricky Ray, Kent Austin, Doug Flutie, and Tom Clements come to mind.

Depends a bit on the type of prospect QB. Ross, was a 3 year starter who stole some snaps in his first year as well. Threw for just under 10k yards. 47 games and 41 starts in 4 years. 760/1174 (65%) 72 tds 24 ints. The guy has played tons of football. He has a year of seasoning in BC. If he isnt ready out of this camp he probably wont ever make the jump. For a guy with that much experience (and you can be he was the guy in hs too) its all about how his skill set translates to the pros, and how he adapts to the canadian game. If you arent fast enough to figure it out after a year of watching you wont be fast enough to run the team play to play every game.

Streveler is a 2 year starter who stole a few snaps his first year before transfering. At that he took a huge step forward his last year in college. 2/3s of his passing yards came in that year. 23/28 games.

Yeah.. If anyone can come out of college and succeed their first year its Chris Streveler.  The type of offense he was at the helm of looks eerily similar to what most CFL teams run (see video below if you disagree). If he can pick up the nuances (extra player on the field, forward motion)I think he will be fine. He also has nerves of steel and is exceptionally calm and confident in the shotgun. Hopefully, we don't have to find out though because Matt Nichols has been pretty healthy and doesn't take a lot of shots due to the style of offense we run and his ability to get rid of the ball quickly.

That pick-six he threw at the 6:30 mark was very Kevin Glenn-like....
