I think Beverly may be a unisex name

Beverly. Beverly or Beverley is a given name that was at one time commonly amasculine given name but is now almost exclusively a feminine name. It is derived from an English surname, which was in turn taken from the place name Beverley.

So incest, child porn, etc, is okay as long as you don't profess to be religious?

Don't pretend that I ever suggested that and don't pretend that the right does not weaponize religion to elect some pretty unsavoury and criminal characters.

Just showing that Roy Moore is not a blip in evangelical hypocrisy.

you've clearly missed my point.  The guy admitted it was a dumb joke.  apologized. went thru "sensitivity" training and then apologized... again.   thats not the issue.. the issue is what was a joke between 3 people has spiraled into this.   I imagine Bezan doesn't want to go through the even longer hassle of trying to clear his name at this point either.. because, again, it doesn't clear your name.  Once you've been linked to something heinous, you don't just walk away from it.. especially in the age of the internet.

I want people coming forward. I want perverts, pedophiles, predators and rapists to all get dragged thru the mud. arrested and charged.  I want all accusers to not fear being ridiculed and made to felt badly about coming forward...  I also want people to lighten the F up, NOT insinuate sexual abuse or harassment because someone tells a joke they don't like.  as I said, he never once made leering motions, gropey hand gestures or anything untoward.. he made a joke, about conflicting political foes being put together for a photo op.. if a grown-ass woman can't handle a joke, why the hell is she in politics?

What heinous thing is he linked to?  I think apologizing for offending someone more or less ends it.  I find it weird in a thread about sexual harassment and abuse, you're focusing on the lesser item and holding it up as some sort of stain on a guy's life.  The fact we can all read it and say it was likely a stupid joke and he apologized lends itself to the idea that most people can see that.

40 year Bomber fan.  You're projecting again, by the way.

Mmhmm.  Just curious, because you created an account here and post exclusively in political topics and spout generic left-wing talking points and link to left-wing sites.

Whereas you accuse me of "projecting" (implying that I am here to be a shill for right-wing propaganda, apparently), when the vast majority of my posts are football-related and I only occasionally stray into other topics.  So your claim of "projecting" is really quite hollow.

But I'm sure you've seen other lefties spout that line before so you thought it would work in this case too.

Are you familiar with the term "bread and circuses"?

Sports message boards are the flip side where people tend to take the distraction more seriously than what's really important.  I'm too old for that now.

Saw my first game live in the 70's against BC.  Sat in the southwest bleachers and learned to hate Bill Baker instantly.

The REALLY sad/disgusting part of all this, is the number of women who have been raped and or assaulted......that's the sad/disgusting part. Don't get me wrong, it's sad that maybe there's some guys not as guilty as others, but on the flip side, there's still guys not getting noticed for the egregious things they're doing.

Society makes me sad.

So you're cool with innocent men having their lives ruined by opportunistic people?  Call me when your career and life are destroyed by false allegations.

This has happened to so many in the U.S. already.  Futures destroyed with no proof or due process.

The difference is that republicans and conservatives are the politicians who tend to use their supposed faith in God to get votes.   Perhaps you missed the blatant hypocrisy that the list illustrates.

And democrats and liberals never lie to get votes.................or are caught with their pants down.  What was that guy's name?  oh yeah, Al Frankin, the 'champion of feminism.'

Nice try to push a political/anti-Christian agenda though.

That's the way it looks to me as well.

It's gotten worse now too.

I like the line "People are afraid to live what I’ve had to live through," she said

.Give me a break.  Talk about trivializing sexual harassment.  (which is a very grey term, defined differently by different people)
