"Sites removed from the parks system would have their legal park designations removed, and could be “open for alternate management approaches.”"

Alberta will fully or partially close 20 provincial parks, reduce service in many others

With the 2020 budget, the Alberta government announced that twenty parks are slated for either full or partial closures.

According to Alberta Parks, this will mean full park closures, where the entire site will be closed to public access.

Others will have partial closures, where either their campgrounds or specific facilities are closed to public access, with the remaining park areas open but non-serviced.

The parks that will be fully closed include Kehiwin, Running Lake, Stoney Lake, Sulphur Lake, Little Fish Lake, Crow Lake, Bleriot Ferry, Greene Valley, Twin Lakes and Sheep Creek.

Beginning fall 2020, there will be no groomed cross-country track setting in the three main areas traditionally groomed by government staff in the Kananaskis Region. The impacted areas include Peter Lougheed, Mt. Shark and Kananaskis Village area.

Creating suspended natural areas that will be quickly destroyed by AB. red-necks driving their trucks, motor-cycles, ATV's and snow-machines throughout.  Once decimated these areas will  be declared "eye-sores" and sold off to private, well connected political supporters, who will keep them for their own use or commercialize them.  That's the plan anyway.

The Liberals have backed off: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/house-commons-covid-emergency-bill-1.5507499

Quote

Hours before introducing a bill to spend up to $82 billion and increase federal powers to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, the Liberals backed off a measure that the Opposition decried as an attempt to get Parliament to sign them a blank cheque.

While Conservatives said they were prepared to quickly approve the billions in emergency financial aid and economic stimulus as promised by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last week, they balked at a proposal to give the government sweeping new powers for up to 21 months to unilaterally spend, borrow and tax Canadians without seeking Parliament's approval.

Makes me wonder if this was just a bluff all along.

One step forward two steps back for JT.  Trying to use the pandemic to push this through is pretty lousy.

I don't get it at all. If it weren't a minority gov't, it would make a bit more sense. But you're asking for unprecedented powers to navigate this disaster but in minority gov't???

I think JT has looked and acted fine. But I won’t suddenly hand him the keys to the kingdom.  It’s his usual arrogance to think they could get this level of power and that it would be supported because of the pandemic.  If anything it calls for more bipartisanship not less.  Hopefully they saw the pushback and will not try it again.

More than anything I wouldn't give that power to a certifiable rich ******* like Morneau. I'm still holding a grudge against him for basically calling incorporated people tax cheats. Just because that's what he uses numbered corporations for doesn't mean it's what the rest of us did it for. **** that guy.
