Florida Republican's Bill Would Ban Young Girls From Discussing Their Periods In School

A Florida Republican seeking to restrict sex education for students confirmed in a committee hearing on Wednesday that his bill would also ban young girls from discussing their menstrual cycles with school officials.

Rep. Stan McClain’s (R) proposed legislation, House Bill 1069, seeks to restrict the educational materials used in state schools, which critics have likened to book banning. The bill requires course material and instruction on sexually transmitted diseases, health education or material on human sexuality to “only occur in grades 6 through 12,” according to the legislation.

During a Wednesday House Education Quality Subcommittee, Rep. Ashley Viola Gantt (D) asked McClain if this bill would prohibit girls younger than 6th grade from discussing their periods in school.

“Does this bill prohibit conversations about menstrual cycles ― because we know that typically the ages is between 10 and 15 ― so if little girls experience their menstrual cycle in fifth grade or fourth grade, will that prohibit conversations from them since they are in the grade lower than sixth grade?” Gantt asked McClain during the committee hearing.

“It would,” McClain responded.

DOJ subpoenas dozens of Mar-a-Lago staffers and Trump allies in classified documents probe

At least two dozen people working at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort and residence have been subpoenaed, along with members of Trump's inside circle, in the U.S. Dept. of Justice's investigation into the ex-president's unlawful retention and refusal to return hundreds of classified documents and other government items taken from the White House.

"Trump's communications aide Margo Martin, who worked in the White House and then moved with Trump to Florida, appeared before the grand jury in Washington, DC. One of special counsel Jack Smith’s senior-most prosecutors was involved in the interview," CNN reveals in an exclusive report. "Smith has sought testimony from a range of people close to Trump – from his own attorneys who represent him in the matter to staffers who work on the grounds of Mar-a-Lago, including a housekeeper and restaurant servers, sources said."
One source told CNN, "They're casting an extremely wide net – anyone and everyone who might have seen something."

CNN adds that "federal investigators have talked to a Mar-a-Lago staff member seen on security camera footage moving boxes from a storage room with Trump aide Walt Nauta, who has already spoken with investigators."

Politicians now adays want to force their ideas of how one should live their life what they can do, who they can love, what they can read, where they can go. It's time that people especially in the States wake up before it's too late.

It is too late. They're passing fascist laws down south. It's done, the fascists won.

Now they want to bring that here. CPC/PPC/UCP/PC all of the same cloth.

In a legal response to the defamation lawsuit brought by the computer shop owner, Hunter Biden’s legal team sets the stage for a big case against the GOP.

Politico reported:

In the 42-page legal filing Friday morning, attorneys for Biden assert six counterclaims, alleging that computer repairman John Paul Mac Isaac had no legal right to obtain and distribute data from Biden’s laptop, an issue that became central in the weeks leading up to the 2020 presidential election. Images, emails, and text messages that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden later became public.

“The object of invading Mr. Biden’s privacy and disseminating his data was not for any legitimate purpose but to cause harm and embarrassment to Mr. Biden,” the filing reads.

Recent polling has shown that the Republican obsession and investigation with Hunter Biden’s laptop is hurting them politically with everyone who isn’t a Republican.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer has basically admitted that the investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop is a sham.

Republicans thought that Hunter Biden would sit back and allow himself and his family to be smeared to get Trump back into the White House, but they were wrong.

Biden seems to be putting together a counteroffensive, and if the judge rules that the laptop repair shop owner did have the right to copy and share the data, the door will be open for legal action against everyone in Trump world who has been involved in acquiring, manipulating, and disseminating the data.

Hunter Biden is not a government official. He is not running for office, nor has he worked for the government. There is no legitimate purpose for Republicans in Congress to be investigating him, just as the only reason why his supposed data was leaked was to hurt his father.

As Merrick Garland blisters and blusters away with his self importance, it's all too complicated for you minions to understand tone and grandeur of authority that no one is above the law and his people are protecting the institutions of Democracy everyday.

Pathetic.

DeSantis is the evil version of Trump, he is more educated, can actually speak English and thinks that what he is doing in Florida can be accomplished thoughout the United States.

He just might be right. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good is for good people to remain silent.

Judge Orders More Trump Lawyer Testimony In Mar-a-Lago Probe

Federal prosecutors investigating the potential mishandling of classified documents at former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate will be able to again question a Trump lawyer before a grand jury, a judge ruled Friday in a sealed order.

The order will require M. Evan Corcoran to answer additional questions as prosecutors pursue their investigation into classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago as well as potential efforts to obstruct that probe. The order was described by a person familiar with it, who was not authorized to discuss a sealed proceeding and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

The precise scope of the order, which is expected to be appealed, was not immediately clear. Neither Corcoran nor his lawyer returned messages seeking comment, and a spokesman for special counsel Jack Smith, who is leading the investigation, also did not respond to an email about the order.

A Trump spokesman said the Trump team would “fight the Department of Justice on this front and all others that jeopardize fundamental American rights and values.”

Corcoran had already appeared weeks ago before the federal grand jury in Washington investigating the Mar-a-Lago matter, but he had invoked attorney-client privilege in declining to answer certain questions. That privilege protects lawyers from being forced to share with prosecutors details of the conversations they have with clients.

Prosecutors can get around that privilege if they can convince a judge that the communications they seek answers about involved furtherance of a crime — a principle known as the crime-fraud exception. The Justice Department invoked that exception in this case, arguing to Beryl Howell, the outgoing chief judge of the federal court in Washington, D.C., that more testimony was needed.

He's going to tear down the judicial system. It's over. Build a wall.

One could argue nothing of substance was there in the first place.

It was just a mirage that Trump and crew have exposed grifting gobs and gobs of money along the way.

Kari Lake finds Arizona rancher’s arrest 'appalling' after he murdered 'unarmed' Mexican migrant

Former Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate and election denier, Kari Lake, recently shared her outrage over an Arizona rancher's arrest after he killed an unarmed Mexican migrant near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Per Associated Press, 73-year-old George Alan Kelly opened fire "that day on a group of about eight unarmed migrants who entered the U.S. illegally," according to the prosecutor in the case.
Santa Cruz County Chief Deputy attorney, Kimberly Hunley, wrote in the filing, "Kelly shot an unarmed man in the back as he was fleeing, in addition to shooting at other individuals, without warning or provocation."

AP reports the prosecutor is fighting "against a reduction in Kelly's $1 million cash bond."

PatriotTakes shared a clip from Lake's interview with Real America's Voice during the 2023 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) via Twitter, writing, "Kari Lake said 'it's outrageous' and 'appalling' that an Arizona man is being prosecuted after killing an unarmed Mexican national in the back with his AK-47 rifle."

The host interviewing the former candidate said, "A rancher arrested when he shot a Mexican national on his property illegally. What is wrong with that picture?"

Even if the Manhattan DA indicts Trump it will be a slap on the wrists, Trump should be more worried if the Georgia grand jury and DA indict him and if Garland ever gets of his ass. Trump  move then will be a call to arms to protect him.

Experts: Trump is encouraging violence with Waco campaign rally on 30th anniversary of deadly siege

Early Friday evening Donald Trump announced he will hold a campaign rally in Waco on March 25, which falls during the 30th anniversary of the 51-day deadly siege in that Texas community. Barely more than 12 hours later the one-term ex-president under at least four criminal investigations posted a statement that some, including legal experts, warn is encouraging or inciting violence, or is “a call for violence,” after claiming he will be arrested on Tuesday.

For those who would like a refresher, in 1993 agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) raided the headquarters of religious cult leader David Koresh and his Branch Davidians. Armed with warrants, federal agents targeted the compound searching for stockpiled firearms. By the end of the standoff, four ATF agents and 82 Branch Davidians had been killed.
