  1. Those speedy backs that shred college defences by running through massive holes, tend not to hold up well when they have to bust through the line to find space, and are met by pro level tacklers.
  2. I think it was the WF game against BC, on the opening drive they fed Brady 10 times consecutively marching the ball 70 yds. for a TD, that was the most definitive statement of Bradyball.
  3. I'd be very happy if they could re-sign Clements, Cole is a good multi-tool guy but Clements is more polished, with Bighill aging out they need them both.
  4. To end up on the 1 game, he had to be taken off the PR so a minimal level contract is involved, same deal for Alston, Fox, Garbutt, Haba, Karamoko, Kelly, Murphy, Schmekel and any one else they wanted to hold onto.
  5. If Dobson has a reverse gear, I've never seen it. Great run blocker but haven't seen him much in pass protection, if they move Gray I think Eli moves to OG.
  6. Doubt Gray is still in school, he started pursuing his Masters in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 after graduating and he's obviously a smart guy, a program like that usually takes 2 years.
  7. Was Pickett released early? FA hasn't started yet, thought Argos had to wait until this weekend to make a counter offer?
  8. Rhymes is the only receiver in that group making top dollar, Behar and Acklin made around $160k, the rest much less.
  9. Could be, but how hard did they fight to retain Gino Lewis? It would make the CFL more interesting and Riderfans that much more sad if they released the bidding list FA players receive.
  10. Looks like Ottawa may be clearing salary space to go after Schoen, I suspect it will come down to them and Hamilton, with Tim White being the consolation prize.
  11. This would have been well before Brady established himself as a starter so doesn't make a whole lot of sense, do you have a link that indicates they preferred him over Harris?
  12. Where do you get the idea they're out on Jeffcoat? Walters clearly stated he wants him back, he'll go to FA find out his market price and negotiate with the Bombers to see if they can come to an agreement. I don't see a lot of teams being interested in a fairly expensive part-time solution unless they already have a matching piece that also can't play a full season like Lanier.
  13. Jake may have agreed to a chance to compete contract and that's it, seems to be a lot of variables that could influence how they structure the D-line this season. Can't see him sticking around if they plop him on the PR, he obviously still wants to play football. More critical if they lose Jeffcoat and Walker, they'll have some major holes to fill and not a lot of spare cash to do it with, if they go all out and sign Schoen and Brady.
  14. Remember way back in 2022 when MBT lead the league in passes completed, total yards and had a lower interception % than some guy named Zach? I don't.
  15. One critical part of that interview you didn't mention was how they balance the culture of the dressing room between character and talent. Walters provides a great explanation of how O'Shea is more in on the character of players and the scouts are all in on talent, with himself leaning to the side of character. This could explain why a highly disciplined navy seal became an important part of the team and the retention of a vet like Jake Thomas was more than likely.
  16. Didn't they decide to convert him to O-line or am I thinking of someone else?
  17. If they didn't re-sign Jake we'd see a lot more of Schmekel this year, which may or may not be a problem.
  18. Point is he wasn't fired, he left by choice to take a job in his home state and he's 66, 3 years older than Richie Hall.
  19. They've got rocks for brains over there, Harris gets knocked out before game 8 and they finish the season on an 8 game losing streak....for the 3rd straight year.
  20. Agreed WR budget is bigger than the RB budget, but what is the limit? Lawler $285k Demski $180k Bailey $120k? Woli $120k? Schoen $250k? Looking at $1 million for 5 players in that positional group and there are at least 2 backups, all within a $5,450,000 salary cap. I predict Schoen receives an offer the Bombers can't match and they bump Bailey to $140k to reward him for his hard work and sticking with the team. Slot in rookie contract Ontaria Wilson in Schoen's absence.
