Yeah, I had reconstructive surgery on both my feet in 2012 & 2015 due to severe arthritis. I had hardware in both feet. My left foot still has hardware but they were taken out from my right foot after 9 months. My feet may have been fixed surgically but they were never the same. I have no more pain but I have to use a cane to walk because my feet don't work properly as bones have been fused. I have balance issues. I'm 67 & my athletic days are long gone but if I had these surgeries at age 27, I'd have been devastated.

Toninato cleared waivers. Moose might get some crowds this year. They are kinda stacked
The system is definitely not just for the forwards. In what world...
If you've paid attention to bowness at all you'd know that the D is a huge part of the new system. Our D was like 2nd or 3rd worst last year in terms of scoring goals... believe I heard 24 goals by the D last year and Josh had half. The D will be activated this year and that requires the forwards to back them up.

Chara was a hell of alot nastier and better positioned than Stanley even early in his hockey development, the only similarity is the height imo, but we will see.

When you are the team they start the backup with...not a good sign. Hopefully we make em regret it.

That's the plan, which Bowness alluded to yesterday. It's probably going to take time to break old habits but it sounds like the team has bought into what he's selling.
The forward lines back-checking, plugging up lanes, and collapsing to the net much more consistently should only help the blue liners with their game. And the goalie, too.

No, this year, it looks like might actually have a defensive structure, where they will try to prevent shots on goal. It's wild but I'm intrigued.

Given up is kinda not the word I would choose. Yes Isles traded him but that was after 3 seasons playing top 6 and he left Ottawa as UFA. He could have signed there. He pulled a Myers.
Crazy looking back Ottawa could only afford one $6m dman. Jets have 3 guys at 6m.

Who does and does not have to clear waivers has a lot to do with it.

bb1 reacted to Goalie in 3 stars plus hh smoked elk over easy
1. Schoen and Demski. Can't pick one.
2. Oline - no sacks allowed and every rostered QB threw a TD pass
3. Adams - thought he was good in his debut
HH - leggs had a very good game
Honorable mention to Kramdi for bringing the boom all game

Call me crazy, but I like Parker more each game. If he could just play a little tighter, he has the burst to knockdown/pick off a lot of passes. He's a pretty sure tackler as well.

Could be a physical wall too and is just wearing down late in games.
More snaps than he's played in a season in his whole life.

Hall said he was young and playing a lot more games, so he was hitting a wall. I think Hall meant that he hit a mental wall and needed some time for R&R and to watch.
I don't think it's more than teaching a young player about being a pro and growing into that role, physically and mentally.

This is somewhat of a strawman argument as you were originally claiming we should be tossing away a 1st round draft pick for a top DE. Nobody goes into drafts with the mentality that they're going to draft the best players in the 2-4th rounds. Why don't we just pass when our turn comes up in the first round? But here is the actual success of our 1st round draft picks in recent history (dating back to Ekakite who you referenced):
2017 we had 2 first round selections, 1 was Ekakite (fail) but the other was Geoff Gray.
We drafted Drew Dejarlais and Jonathan Kongbo in 2019 in the 1st round. Reason we didn't have a 1st rounder in 2018 was because of the trade to get BCs first round pick in 2019.
2020 we didn't have a first round pick because we won the Grey Cup with Zach Collaros .
2021 we drafted Liam Dobson
2022 we traded our 1st rounder to move into the 2nd round and acquire Cameron Lawson
With all of the trades where we got rid of our 1st rounder it was to get more Canadians or Zach Collaros. Dejarlais and Kongbo might be gone but they helped us win a cup and we would still have a pretty good chance to sign them if they came back to the CFL. Nothing above involved an American player.

Interesting tidbit from Coach Hall about Rutledge getting pulled in the last game:
DC Richie Hall on Donald Rutledge, Jr. being replaced by Redha Kramdi last week: “He’s done a good job. One of the conversations I had with Rut is sometimes as a young player you hit the wall. We’ve played 15 games so far, plus two pre-season games, that’s almost two college seasons. It’s just long. It’s a grind and until you go through the grind you don’t know it.
“We gave him the opportunity to sit back and just observe things from a different perspective. I’m not concerned regarding him. He’s got 15 games experience as far as playing with us and he’s going to be OK. It’s one of those that you don’t experience until you go through it. We talk about it and we talk about it, but until you physically go through it you don’t know.” -

Perhaps we see a trade. But I'd assume both kovy and copacabana clear waivers. Toninato and Harkins likely do also.
Keep up everyone else. Go 2 extra D for now plus 1 extra forward (think Toni Is that guy because of his ability to play both c and w) Saku don't require waivers but probably should make the team. Maybe you put Barron if he's not ready or Stanley or Samberg on IR

Toninato,Harkins meh...the rest you can't risk...I like Harkins but he just isn't physical enough to add anything new to the team.

This team is way better coached too.
Now imagine Khari behind 2022 oline. He could have played a few more years if he wasn't getting killed every game.
