How the mighty have fallen, Stamps scrounging through garbage bins, trying to patch a roster together.
I thought that Teitz had some good games and made a few good plays, but his effectiveness declined as the Rider defence imploded. I wouldn't have broken the bank, but would have picked him up.

Bighill was a special case, he was still engaged in finding work in the NFL when he made the decision to come back to the CFL permanently. I think everyone was shocked when the Bombers signed him, especially Sam Hurl.
Sorry, I was thinking of Bear Woods, he was woody too.
Sam Hurl was constantly surprised- mostly on the field.

I wasn't expecting it either...Obviously tho he came to his senses and realized his value out there just isn't the big money at his position, and being local here he has ability for way more off the field income
If its over 180k tho....not happy about that
OK- did someone take a haircut to make this happen?

I honestly think Riders will be disappointed.
They're used to it, so no problem,

Yeah, Luigi, Vinnie, Marco, Sammy, Giuseppe, Gioavanni, Carlo, Tommasso, etc.
Actually, they had francophone names and were allied to a prominent Quebec politician.

If they change kickoffs Bede is not nearly as valuable. His kickoff length were invaluable to the Argos.
Maybe they could coax Rudy Linterman out of retirement. He was best ever long kicker.

Yeah, He was a great qb. Clements made every team he played on better except the Riders. Lol. I always hoped Tom would come back to the CFL as a HC but he was too busy over the years coaching some of the NFL greats as qb.
Clements was a great QB with decent arm and average running ability, but more that made up for that with smarts and probably a lot of film room time.

They also signed 5-10 receiver Aron Cruickshank from Rutgers. He was Steelers camp last year.
yeah, Kelvin McKnight as an example.
McKnight's enduring presence still boggles my mind.

Bombers sign American offensive lineman Micah Vanterpool. Might be an interesting prospect. The guy is 6-6 315 pounds.

Agreed WR budget is bigger than the RB budget, but what is the limit?
Lawler $285k
Demski $180k
Bailey $120k?
Woli $120k?
Schoen $250k?
Looking at $1 million for 5 players in that positional group and there are at least 2 backups, all within a $5,450,000 salary cap.
I predict Schoen receives an offer the Bombers can't match and they bump Bailey to $140k to reward him for his hard work and sticking with the team. Slot in rookie contract Ontaria Wilson in Schoen's absence.
Impressive.

Betts might be the most overrated player the CFL has seen in some time.
He sure flamed out against the Bombers in the playoffs.

But Streveler will live in our hearts for generations!
But, Grandpa, did you see him play?
I sure did. The man picked up the frozen ball and carried it fifty yards to the endzone. Carried eight tacklers with him. Carried the hopes and dreams of all of Bomber Nation with him too. He ran all the way to Portage & Main.
Fighting off rabid coyotes (indistinguishable from Rider fans) all the way.

But at 4.66 for the 40 yard dash, he's not a burner. Pretty versatile, though.

Agreed. No one is promising a starting role to either Gray or Kolankowski or even that they will survive training camp or not be traded. Que sera, sera.
