The CFL is in a sad state of QB'ing.

Mitchell and Rielly are the only legitimately good QBs left in the league and Rielly is in his twilight.

Fajardo, Nichols, Dane, Masoli, Harris, Streveler, Collaros are all just meh. Maybe Adams could be considered upper-echelon, but he really shouldn't be.

MBT and Davis are straight awful.

The CFL needs new blood at the position.

I just don't see how a West QB will win this year with such outstanding performances by Burnham, Harris, and Begelton. No QB should win by default.

Sure, but I highly doubt it's Fajardo. He's exceeded expectations like Nichols in 2017, but he's not even an upper echelon QB let alone MOP.

Assuming you're alluding to Matt Nichols... that is a very tough decision in the off season. My heart says keep him, but the brain says time to move on.

The heavy favourite to be the west nominee for MOP.   Excellent signing for the Riders and for the league for that matter.

To be fair, there isnt a OC in the league this year that has been able to keep their qb healthy.

Bad coaches can win championships, never mind winning 10+games a season.  See former head coach Dan Byslma of the Pittsburgh Penguins.  I wouldn't say O'Shea is a bad coach but winning 10+ games for four years in a row certainly doesn't indicate he is a good or great coach.  He has been provided with quite a bit of talent and good Canadian depth.

All the QB comments aside, and I’m a Streveler fan like most, this comes down to coaching plain and simple. Streveler has been with the team for 2 years and has been given little opportunity to develop his throwing abilities. Buck pierce was a Streveler run first pass second so how would one think he could develop his passing game. And if memory is correct pierce wasn’t that great a passer either. Then you have the game plan being practiced week in week out....short pass game very few long balls little time to develop chemistry with receivers outside 10 yards and no development on timing ie throwing to a spot where the receiver is supposed to be. So from a coaching perspective little developmental input hence little development.
Another point that has been mentioned here, why did the coaches risk Streveler’s career and health seeing what we all saw....a guy who could barely walk let alone run ! Any sensible coach would have taken him out whether he wanted to or not the first time he could hardly get up! Why do you have backups dressed....to look pretty? I blame O’Shea first and Lapo second...regardless of what Streveler said he should have been taken out and replaced by either of the others.
and finally why did Harris only get 12 touches running the ball.it certainly says something about the game plan when the QB has more rushing attempts and more yards than the leading rusher in the league!

    oh well maybe next year!

The D wasn't good...I will start by saying that.  But the offense was pretty bad as well.  The defense basically gifted the offense 14 points.  1 on a turnover returned for a TD and another deep in Calgary territory where the offense only had to move the ball 25 yards for the TD.  Without those plays by the defense, the offense probably only scores 19-22 points...not particularly good.
Bottom line- both the offense and defense were not good.  Special teams was the best aspect of the game for the Bombers.

The team seems to have peaked under this regime in 2017.  12-6 record.  While the team did finally win a playoff game in 2018 it was against the worst starting QB in recent playoff history...and that Bomber team was 10-8 in the regular season and clearly inferior to the one from the preceding season.

"Why do you think you weren't able to execute as well on offense in the second half?"
"I don't know. I'd have to honestly.. I'd have to look at it a little more closesly, but I don't even know the stats to tell you the truth or what the yardage was."

"When the other coach is going for 2 all the time does it tempt you follow his lead there?"
"No, we have our formula. We know part of the reason teams go for 2 early is to get you to chase points early, so I don't really fall into that trap."

"Everyone's giving Streveler a lot of credit for being a warrior, y'know going in there limping all the time. Did you see him limping to the huddle before going down with the trainers? Were you monitoring his health throughout the game?"
"I don't think it was throughout the game. I think it was through the span of a couple plays prior to that, y'know you trust your players. If he says he can go, he can go."

"The fact that he willed himself to go when he was in noticeable pain, what does it say about him the player, the leader that he is as a quarterback."
"This time of year all these guys are nicked up, but y'know obviously Strev got a little nicked up that game. and I think when guys do that they're putting it on the line for their teammates. They want to be out there for them, they love working for their teammates. The want to give everything they've got."

Then he's asked about why he put McGuire in over Collaros and he basically said he looks good in practice. He said he looks "right" in practice, and McGuire knew the hurry up offense better than Collaros at this point.

Ticket sales are dropping.  The season ticket base dropped to 17 - 18,000 this year.  Outside the Banjo Bowl, the Bombers did not draw one crowd over 25,000 this year - that is the first time that has happened in the new stadium.
I think many people have given up on the idea this team will win a Grey Cup or even finish first with this coaching staff and management group in place.

Don't be myopic.  Buck was an injury-prone QB when he came and had underwhelming results when he came here from BC...it was the reason they released him.  That continued with the BOmbers...it didn't help that the GM surrounded him with garbage on the o-line, but it was clear as time went along especially in 2012 and 2013 Buck was done.  He was failing to go through his progressions by that point and his arm wasn't as strong either.

I would be fine with Lapo leaving as I think he is an over-rated OC, but you are wrong.  With Khari and Durant, Lapo let his quarterbacks sling it down the field with long and intermediate passes.  Neither Streveller nor Nichols have the talent to do that on a consistent basis.

A clean slate (new head coach and new coordinators) to go along with a new quality QB would be just what the doctor ordered in 2020, assuming this team is one and done in the playoffs.

Yes, Buck was a warrior and he was mediocre for most of his games he played here...and the Bombers were mostly awful from 2010-2013.
