  1. I agree... but Maas, Brady and Crandell all were basically backups and spent much of their career as 'asst coaches'. Howell seems to be a 'student of the game' kind of guy... that being said, I'd be fine with Howell as ST coach and Dyce as QB. I just think give Buck a few years to learn how to coach and then make the move. Don't get me wrong, my dream coaching core is Maas (OC), Khari (QB), Wylie/Charbonneau (OL), Edwards (REC), Dyce (ST), Buck (RB/Strength/Conditioning) and move Howell to LB coach
  2. Like all coaches in Sask, Jones lives and dies with Durant. They don't have $$ to sign anyone else. Defence should be better, the only guy coming back from LB/DB core is probably Knox - everyone else will be turfed.
  3. Yeah, Howell has been with the bombers for five years, the move to QB coach would be to groom him to be an HC/OC eventually. I think Buck had some really bad habits... long reads, trouble checking down, leading with his head... I don't want him anywhere near the QBs.
  4. If I'm Hervey, I offer the HC gig to McAdoo and OC to Jackson... try to get Benevides as DC
  5. Our new OC will probably bring his own guys in... at least, I hope he's allowed to... My preference (if we can't get Maas) would be: OC - Khari Jones QB - Howell OL - Wylie RB/OL - Charbonneau REC - Edwards ST - Dyce Strength/Conditioning - Buck Not a huge fan of Lapo and I'm not sure he'd work with OShea... Keep the DC coaches the same... I'd like an improvement but Hall has done a decent job. I would also make Trevor Harris the highest paid QB in the league and Willy would become our backup. Sign another OL, another DL and a replacement for Nick Moore. Load up TC with receivers and DL.
  6. Jones worship is already in top gear... apparently, he discovered Odell Willis... the guy is a personnel genius.
  7. These losses in the Central are gonna come back to haunt the jets...
  8. Just wondering how getting shelled every game is helping Petan or Morrissey's development...
  9. Now he's talking to himself in the penalty box... gonna be a good game
  10. This is exactly it, especially the last part... If Helle didn't make several tremendous saves, we wouldn't be talking about it. In the end, Jets were out shot and in my opinion, out played after the first period pretty badly... I believe after the first the jets had 16 shots on goal and washington had like 4... Jets ended up with like 34 and the caps had like 38... Caps pretty much took over in the 2nd and 3rd and pretty much owned the Jets in OT. Jets scored on their like only shot in OT..Caps had several shots. After the first, the Jets were out shot 34 to like 18 (give or take) Helle was the reason they won pretty much, they played ok, they played a good defensive game, lots of washingtons shots were pretty standard saves, several weren't tho and Helle just made it look easy. He's so good at tracking the puck and his positioning is so good that sometimes, the tough shots look like easy saves too but only looked easy because of his pretty tremendous positioning. Like pretty much.
  11. Actually think Capicotti is over-rated and his stats are better because of the rest of the line Shologan would be my pick... and anyone not named Peach.
  12. No one should ever forget that we could have taken Eddie Steele with the pick we traded for the rights to Alex Brink.
  13. Does Ottawa have money to go after big free agents? They have some big names of their own on that free agent list and presumably they're going to be getting some raises after this season... Everyone has money to spend. Just have to make corresponding moves. They have guys like Mo Price, Jovon, Shologan, Gott who are getting paid a lot more than they are worth and could easily be moved on from. Shologan and Gott are coming off the best seasons of their career. Why would Ottawa get rid of two starting Canadians, lol, that's a Bomber move. Because they have NI DL who can play coming out the wazoo and Alex Mateas. They don't have any quarterbacks who look like they can play beyond a guy who's on borrowed time. Being complacent with an aging 2nd place team is also a Bomber move. Remember 2008? Gott possibly... but you'd have to be crazy to let Shologan walk
  14. We did that with Barresi... then Crowton... then Bellefuile... Why would we need to give OCs time... should Redblacks have given Mike Gibson one more season? If the offence doesn't click within the first season, its not going to... So what would make Khari unsuitable? .... blah blah blah You have to understand. It's training camp right now for the second-guessers and place-pickers... blah blah blah Off-season.... a place where 17to85 loses his mind over a post that had nothing to do with Khari Jones and where Goalie and Mr Dee over-react to negative posts - which include all posts that aren't written by them, ha All we need is GCn11 to pile on now.

  16. Would love to see Harris and Willy as our QBs next year... would eat up $700-800k of our SMS but we'd have a real QB for the entire season
  17. If Maas was on OShea's wish list, why didn't we just hire him last year... brutal.
  18. Funny how hiring Tim Burke as DC and then promoting him to HC was generally accepted as a good thing on this board... now he's the second coming of Jim Daley.
  19. Still saying that they just end up promoting Buck. He'll come cheap. Bombers really missed the boat with Jason Maas...
  20. Wow. Off-season bickering starting early. Its going to get ugly when Walters just hands the OC job to Buck... and then we re-up Brohm.
