Jay Washington needs to be in the debate as well.

Jay was  a terrific back. Richard Crump was part of that era too.
I remember Crump rushing for 3 TDS one game. He had a decent run here but didn’t match the productivity of Washington.

Some more context: Ottawa was absolutely jobbed by the officials in that 1981 grey cup game.
They called (actually) the worst OPI I’ve ever seen on Tony Gabriel (on a play where Gabriel himself was interfered with twice) while Ottawa was driving near the end, with a less obvious DPI non-call the next time the Rough Riders got the ball.

We think the refs are bad now and justifiably ***** about the command centre, but the 80s and 90s officials were a different level of terrible.

Unfortunately, I missed that part of the game, as, that day, a group of my friends and I enjoyed a large scale experience with electric Kool-Aid (punchbowl version). We lasted with the game until the half, but became far more interested in the wonderful world of Disney on another channel.

It's not personal. You say he's slower processing. Okay well, I just want you to prove your point. And just saying, "Well, I noticed he seems slower".... Slower, what? It pisses me off as a fan with so many experts ready to write the guy off for a qb who didn't even have 5 CFL starts to his name. Let Dru make his money & get beat up in Ottawa. We'll see how he does.

Well, if you played as a running back in the CFL then tell us why Zach is processing slower & I'll take it all back & say sorry.

If these comments piss you off, I can’t imagine that there is a lot on this board that makes you happy.

Hill is definitely an interesting signing. Dude seems to have speed and moves to burn so the waggle might be a positive for him. It’s all about picking it up tho. Interesting signing. More excited about Ohio state guy than Alabama guy lol.

Enroll him in Professor Schoen’s intro course at Waggle U.

I'm just mellowing in my advanced age. I really don't want to fight with anyone here anymore but I'll still stand my ground if need be but perhaps do so in a more respectful way. I used to think I knew it all but now I find as I get older that I'm forgetful with player names & circumstances that I used to rattle off so I'm not as smart as I thought I was.

I’m a little alarmed that you haven't mentioned Brock in the arm strength thread.
    What’s up?

I’m going to try and be self-aware with this because I know I prefer Schoen over Brady myself, but I did have a conversation with my dad the other day where he made a very good point: we’ve never played Schoenball in the 4th Q to seal a win. We’ve made a habit of playing Bradyball. That stuff does matter and I don’t think I had really considered that until he said it.

    Great point

yup....and what we likely had on table....good for him on soaking the Riders and bidding them up...as there were others interested....too funny tho....Man Rider management is brutal...I sure on Riderfans the see it as fleecing us ahahaha

Yoshi probably still asked for Osh's blessing to take the position. He has that level of respect for his coach.

  8. The spotlight on the 2024 season shines directly on Pierce and to a lesser degree, Younger.

As a rookie coordinator, JY can be allowed time to grow while still retaining Ritchie’s existing defensive philosophies, without major repercussions. Best case, he puts his own stamp on the D and they respond positively.

Buck is well involved in his gig, but this year, he can truly maximize the 2QB rule beyond what most (all) of the teams have at their disposal. With Streveler’s abilities, along with his experience playing our game (and hopefully, a good working relationship with Zach) our playcalling can really change the way we play. Having 2 QBs can be an unusual and unpredictable formation and can put the defence on its heels trying to prepare for the play, especially if your two QBs have different skill sets

Will Buck help reinvent our game by utilizing the QB1-QB Hybrid option and more importantly, will Osh allow this to happen?
