Really they just need to get rid of kickoffs, you win the coin flip and either you take the ball or let the other team take the ball, through the years they have neurtered the kickoffs for safety reasons and that's fair but there is no reason for kickoffs anymore.
It's weird that they've done everything to the kickoff to eliminate it except get rid of it. The kickoff is already dead in the NFL and yet it's still around like a relic.

During the 2024 season, kickers will continue to kick from the 35-yard line, but the other 10 players on the kickoff team will line up at the receiving team's 40-yard line. At least nine members of the return team will line up in a "setup zone" between the 35- and 30-yard lines. Up to two returners can line up in a "landing zone" between the goal line and the 20-yard line.
No one other than the kicker and returner(s) can move until the ball hits the ground or hits a player inside the landing zone. Touchbacks will be marked at the 30-yard line, and no fair catches will be allowed. In the event a team wants to attempt an onside kick, it will have to inform officials of its intent and would then be allowed to use the NFL's traditional formation. No surprise onside kicks will be allowed.

You would think with his resume there would be other opportunities with another college in the US. Hell i believe even a big high school coach in the US makes good coin no? Just seems like a step back ,but maybe there is a promise of HC position like it has been stated here...
The guy was an OC at Cal and Arizona State. He head-coached some mid-major programs. Not exactly a big-time resume. Good get for Calgary but not exactly stealing him.

I keep reading about knife attacks and what not, but every time the wife and I are home we say "when we move back, we're gonna spend a lot of time at the Common... especially in the summer..." and probably fish around there a fair bit, too, I think.....
Violent crime has been on the rise but it's back to levels of around 2009. We need addiction spaces and housing investment, which the last gov't did not do. So, a much improved gov't will fix this. The last gov't was a disaster for this province.
Property crime is down.

No, that 🤡 is Purifoy, I believe.
Leonard hasn't peed in 8 years to avoid getting tested. Then he berated the poor staff that had to collect the sample.

Is it still driving up the price when he signed here for much less than what they offered? Maybe to an extent but he was still in line for a big bump. I guess we'll never know what he could have signed for if not for teams like the Lions.
Also way to pat yourselves on the back guys. You made the 2nd highest contract offer (Hamilton offered more per year - $275k vs BC's 250ish) so if anyone was driving up the price, it was the Ticats.
Always 2nd best. Sorry Lions. Womp, womp.

The person loads the gun and fires. The gun does not load itself. Pretty obvious. Ppl always look for reasons or excuses when ppl kill themselves. My uncle killed himself when I was 10 and I remember my grandmother never accepted he had mental issues until the day she died. He loaded his gun. He fired. The disease did not.
You have a real lack of understanding of mental health issues, the factors that lead to them, and the outcomes of mental health. You should educate yourself rather than making unsupported claims.

CTE don’t make you load a gun and kill yourself. We have lots of reserves here in Manitoba. I’ve been to several. Camping and one time a friend of mine gave us a tour of his reserve, Simon was from a reserve and if anybody has ever been to one, I think ppl might understand that the mental issues start there. It’s a sad sad thing to see. It’s just the fact he made it out and to the nhl is amazing.

I would imagine no since it would cost way too much to maintain and the building probably was never designed to have grass.
I would also argue that maintaining the grass in the fall would be too challenging, with all the football that's played there. Easier for it to recover in summer, but not so much in fall.

Was at the stadium Friday night for the Bryant & Streveler talk. It was very exciting to see the work on the field. It was really worn out, so it was becoming a bit of an injury concern.
I bet they're cutting it up to hand out to season ticket holders like they did with the turf at the old stadium.

Do we need Ford as our 3rd QB? I say no.
Unless he's converting to another position, I'm not sure how (or why???) we would want him.

Just buy out Vilardi in the off season.
it’s a reoccurring theme in his career.
You could trade him for a pick at the very least. $3.5M while still an RFA is very movable.

We had a big initial expansion and it's not surprising that we're now seeing some contraction in the craft beer market.
