Aside from misleading our block about our street renewal, I can't think of any of this baggage.  That being said, I can not vote for anyone Conservative-adjacent.

He's pretty moderate, but why vote moderate when I can vote progressive?  I think he'd make a decent provincial PC leader, but I still wouldn't vote for him.

This. He seems like a decent guy who unfortunately still believes that the answer to traffic congestion is roads, roads, and more roads. I see him as the 'more of the same old mediocrity' candidate.

Now that Loney seems to have enough momentum that I can switch my vote from Murray to him without much fear of Gillingham winning, that's what I'm going to do.

Who stands out in terms of quality of the ones running for mayor? I think with so many candidates and no huge names or anyone making any positive splashes, it is easy to see why Murray would take it. I haven't taken much of a dive into policies, but it is hard for the average voter to do when there are so many options.

If you want a progressive city that actually acts like a city should, vote Loney.  If you want more of the same barely treading water, Gillingham.

Their net worth is hundreds of millions. Their company is on the New York stock exchange.

Now you have me wondering... If they are Manitobans, it's limited to a pretty small handful of people. 🤔

And Konz is now permanently closed at City Place. Another business hurt by the pandemic

To be fair to the pandemic, hardly anyone ate at Konz pre-pandemic...

Stanley's low numbers are legitimate but I wonder about North Norfolk. There are some municipalities whose Vaccination rates show as low are due to the number of Hutterite colonies . The Colonies I know are not getting vaccinated and I doubt any are. While the percentage shown is true it's not quite indicative of the communities in those RMs. In the RM beside me the Colonies owned %60 of the land 10 years ago and it would be much higher now. Population wise it would be close to close to %50 now as a wild guess. I'm not sure about North Norfolk but I've been surprised about their numbers all along.

North Norfolk has a lot of colonies, but it also has a very large Mennonite population. MacGregor and the surrounding villages have at least six Mennonite churches that I'm aware of, and a very conservative Christian school. I have family in the area, and there's a ton of anti-vax, anti-mask, "personal freedom"-type sentiment...

This is another reason for me getting off heroin. Last thing I remember was him jumping out of swimming pools backward.

Go check out his Instagram now! I'm not sure what the injury was in his third year that caused him to retire, but it didn't effect his strength. Dude is jacked and gearing up for a body building competition later this year!

My dad sadly passed away a few years ago, but one of my fondest memories of him was when I turned five, he bought me my first chess set and board. The gift was nice, and anytime I asked him he would always play with me. I remember it fondly and it was a big part of growing up as a kid, he taught me the rules, and let me take moves back as a kid.

    He never let me win.

I later found out this was a huge sticking point between him and my mom. My mom thought he should've let me win. I remember when I was about 12 I legitimately beat him for the first time... as I got older, I started to beat him more and more. I'm nowhere near as good of a player as I once was, but I still love a good game. Thanks for sticking to your guns old, you made the right call.

My dad kicked the crap out of me at chess and ping pong for years and I kept coming back for more. Winning wasn't even a consideration at the start, just trying to get a good spike in once in a while or last more than ten moves. Always learning, always improving...

  8. Became eligible for AZ on Friday at noon. Called Dr's office and left a message, then called my local Shoppers and got an appointment for Saturday at 2:30. Felt fine until midnight, but came down with chills and needed Tylenol to get back to sleep. Sunday morning woke up with general aches, tiredness and slight nausea. More Tylenol and was feeling pretty good by lunch. Over-exerted myself and had to take more Tylenol and a nap late in the afternoon. More Tylenol before bed and slept fine. Today I felt pretty tired and sore so I didn't 'go' to work (I WFH), but just took it easy and only took half as much Tylenol. I'm optimistic that with a good sleep I'll be right as rain tomorrow.

Short version: AZ --> sore and achey for two days, but nothing serious.

Dr's office returned my call today - they expect to have single-dose JNJ available next week. 🤷‍♂️

Well, if you can't get your car in & out of the driveway that is a big problem.  But those homes on Jubilee have backlanes & garages so...

The lineup was in the eastbound curb lane, where there is no back lane and the driveways go right on to Jubilee. They literally have an entire bridge they could have people line up six feet apart on. Or send the line down the sidewalk...

Helpfully, my workplace said "hey since the state of emergency was extended, we're going to keep working from home".  I wasnt in the meeting so I couldnt ask the obvious follow up of 'um, are you suggesting you were planning to have us back in the office in May?'  I sure hope they arent stupid enough to bring us all back into the office in the next month or two.  I think its this weird aversion to Work from Home.  Some businesses just despise the notion of employees being happy and comfortable.

I haven't looked at job postings at other organizations once during this whole thing. Used to do it pretty regularly. Wasn't actively looking to move on, just liked to see what was out there. Working from home is awesome, and has removed 90%+ of any desire to look elsewhere.

You want to retain employees after this, show that you've learned something from this and give them at least some flexibility to work from home.

You can still write TB submissions and briefing notes on your laptop though, correct? Then upload them when you have access to VPN?

Most government work these days is just sending emails that used to be accomplished through phone calls and face-to-face conversations. That and completing RASs and RAIAs. 😆
