Re-signing Willy would just be awkward for both sides, kind of like inviting the first ex-wife to your third wedding.

Swirling wind and rain to start.....
Kyle Knox sighting:  takes penalty on opening kickoff......
Hurl still looks pretty slow on blitz....
Bombers driving....Nichols throws perfect TD to Adams....
....call back because of ....you guessed it....the ole hands to face call.
Blue settles for Medlock booting it through, Bombers 3-0.
Powell running with authority for RedBlacks....
Walker defending a couple of passes......
Bombers running some hurryup, on 2nd down plays....
Nice catch by Adams....Harris takes screen for 15....
...but Nichols sacked.....on comes Medlock....6-1 Bombers
Blue O moving the ball pretty well....but need some finish...
Nichols scrambles right-then left....and hits Adams deep....
Bombers winning the field position and TOP, anyways...
RB Powell is good.....but some defensive tackling....bad...
Not getting pressure on Lindley, yet...he gets ball out on time..
Okpaulugo must of heard me....puts smack on QB...
Nichols long pass to Denmark, Dressler runs sweep for more...
But Nichols and Dressler.... not much chemistry further down the field.....
    Medlock hits 3rd FG.....Bombers pulling away.    9-2
Moe Leggett all over the place again.....
Jeffcoat strips Powell of ball....also recovers it on RB 35
Nichols misfires downfield with Dress again....
...but swing pass to Westy....gets big 2nd down gain...
Harris up the gut, finds huge hole, cuts back and rumbles into end zone.
Lindley starting to look nervous, with some pretty erratic throwing.
Obvious PI on Redblack DB.   Obvious to everybody, except officials...
MOS challenges and gets it , but 2nd down pass to Flanders short of marker
Lindley getting less mustard on the short passes, now.....
Some of these roughing the QB are pretty chintzy...
Dressler out of the game (again)
McDuffie treating some Medlock punts.....like hemlock...
Tough conditions out there:  cold, windy, and wet....
Bomber O handling it all, pretty well.....
Mahar punting extremely well for Ottawa
Only handful of diehards sitting in end zones, at this point...
Blue running receiver sweeps effectively, tonight...
Lankford runs another one for good gain.....
Flanders takes swing pass, breaks 3 tackles......TD
With this weather and Lindley....22-2 looks pretty safe.
Ottawa now abandoning run game.....not to their advantage...
    Andrew Harris....another productive game.....film at 11.
Bomber O eating up yards and clock.....
....until Nichols has ball slip out of hand, throwing....
    RB's recover......good run by Powell.....to Blue 20.
Lindley then simply drops ball.....Bomber recover...
Nichols rears back and bombs it right into Adams's hands......
.....who busts down the middle of field to finish 75 yd TD pass
    Back  breaker.   29-3.   Goodnite Ottawa.
Lindley just chucking and praying, now......
Some nice plays from Alexander, back there.....
HSZ (Hall's soft zone) puts in an appearance....
.....enabling Lindley to complete 4 straight passes.....
Powell runs in a consolation TD, for Redblacks....
Bombers could still use a big run stuffing LB.
Leggett smothers 2 point convert try.....
Redblacks do recover nice short KO, off of Leggett...
But Moe knows football.    And picks off 50/50 deep ball...
Strange looking character ambles in, behind center....
Rubbing my eyes.....it is Dom Davis!
Dom does the bomb to Adams, who makes nice catch....
...and must have around 200 yards receiving, tonight..
Dom hits Harris with perfect pass across middle...but dropped.
Another win....at home.....9-3 - this winning stuff getting pretty boring...

Need to start winning at this barn.....
    Lankford takes opening kickoff....reverses field...
...bounces it to the short sideline....
...and tightropes his way free....to 104 yd TD.
I may give him another chance...after all....
Coombs takes deflected pass past Heath for 40 yds.....
    ...sets up Argo FG.....7-3 Blue...
Bomber O still doing its thing in 1st quarters....
    ...which is nothing at all....
    M. Jackson busts return on Medlock short punt....
...and does his own tippy toe...75 yds to a TD...by a shoelace..
Blue throwing horizontal passes to players standing still....again...
Yet another short sideliner on 2nd down....drawing some boos, already.
27 yds of offense and 1 first down in the 1st (sigh)
Moe Leggett picks off pass over the middle... to kill Argo drive...
Harris running hard....making the yards after contact...
Sears gets IC penalty.....more Harris running....sets up FG.
S.J. Green great catch over Alexander....sets up Argo FG...
Dressler slants through Argo zone for 40 yd gain....
Nichols hits a couple more passes.....Harris in from the 4...
17 -13 Bombers....this one starting to look like a grinder....
That Jackson fella takes Medlock punt all the way back for TD..
...but illegal block puts it at the Blue 30....
Ray has a corner pattern dropped....then Whitaker drops one...
...on the goal line with no Bomber within 15 yds of him.  Argo FG.
Jackson is at it AGAIN....busts another kick return....65 yds...
..only some terrific speed from Walker, prevents TD...
MOS trying to figure out what the hell is... with the kick coverage...
Bomber D hold again...Liram H. boots another short FG...
Blue go into hurry-up O.....Sears gets tic-tack IC call..
Medlock lines up for a 56 yd attempt....pounds it right down the pipe...
...and it had about 10 yds to spare....just awesome.
Ray completes some passes....another sticky catch from AC Green...
LH closes out the half with another FG for Argos
Ray may be 37....but still throws the nice, easy ball......
Westerman is having his most active game of year, so far....
...the penalties are getting pretty tiresome, though....
Long Argo drive eating up the clock....and gets them another FG.
Coombs having a productive game for the Double Blue....
25-20 Argos.  Bomber D is hanging in there.....need some offense....
Bombers keep taking ball at 35....
Our O throws that short out pass....like nobody's business....
Bombers start a long drive.....convert some 2nd downs.....
Face mask on Adams moves it to the 5....Harris punches it in on 2nd down..
    Blue up 27-25....tide is turning....
Another 100+ yd night for Dressler....clutch player..
Argo D starting to wear down.....M. Ball slams helmet on ground for 15...
Nichols is then low bridged for another major....
Argos then get bad PI against Denmark.....but it is overturned on review....
Not sure I know what the officials are doing out there, tonight.....
    Not sure they know either....
    Medlock makes 27th field goal....in a row....to make it 30-25 Bombers...
Nevis stuffs Whitaker on short 2nd down play....
Ray has less time for 2nd and 3rd options....and is taking some hits...
This Johnson fella at DT gets big time push, right up the gut.....
More Bomber receivers getting involved in the offense....
...and Nichols is hitting them now...
Seems like Harris has broken 101 tackles, tonight......
Bombers now taking over this game...physically, at the LOS....
O gets off a long drive, eating up clock....Medlock makes it 33-25...
Players on the D...putting up their hands for noise...and getting plenty of it....
Ray completing passes under plenty of duress...down to the 20 yd line.....
3 attempts go incomplete!   Bomber ball!
Nichols throws bomb attempt on 2nd and 5....eyebrows go up all over the place...
Argos have it with 50 seconds left.....
Heath jumps A.J. Green and picks off his 2nd of the night.....GAME OVER..
This guy plays a different position but reminds me of Rod Hill....a ball magnet...
This D may be starting to get it together.....lots of good performances all round...
Alexander and Walker have been solid.  Roc was not picked on tonight....
D-line came on real strong, Loffler more active, tonight....
Jeffcoat didn't look out of place, either....
Knox got a workout...trying to deal with all the valve passes his way....
The O needs work.....especially getting out of the gate (still)
...but 27 first downs, O turnovers and 0 sacks....
Bombers needed the win much more....than I needed the gin...
...but we will both take it.

Look, all this "is he the right hire?" talk, and "blah blah blah second chance" talk doesn't matter.

The most important thing is that I don't have a gif of Lapo doing his dancing from that halftime panel earlier this year. I hope we are going to fixing that so we can post that thing all over the place when ever we actually win a game next year.

Surprise surprise the people who are constantly nothing but negative see no hope. It's not whether Walters and O'Shea are the right people, but the fact that they are being given enough rope to hang themselves is a good thing. It lets things stabilize themselves before we have to make yet another change to everything. Provides a bit more of a base to work with as opposed to the constant upheaval we've gone through, in particular with the Canadians on the team. People don't like to hear to but patience will be rewarded even if it does involve another change at GM. If a new GM walks in he's got a couple young OL developing, and a qb who can be the guy. That's a better starting position than any of the last GMs stepped into.

The 103 Grey Cup was marred by protests, creating an uneasy feeling for the spectators who thought they were in for a quiet and peaceful game of football.  "It was glitter and jazz-hands as far as the eye could see" said one fan.  "I wasn't about to risk it", said another, "Life's too short.  You could see it in their eyes.  Someone was going to get plie'-d."

On a somewhat related note...these were the special teams plays and unit that I was expecting when O'Shea was hired. Blocking kicks, going for fakes...this was a Mike O'Shea special team game the whole way and he deserves a lot of credit for that.

What I desperately wish for is an experienced GM that could sit O'Shea down and mentor him.  Explain how loyalty is great, but winning is greater.  I don't think that Walters has the chops to do that and as a result the team suffers because of O'Shea's misplaced loyalty to coaches and players that just aren't good enough.  He may just have to learn the hard way that keeping coaches and players that aren't that good, but who really love you just means that you'll have lots of guys willing to carry stuff out to your car as you clean out your office.

I was in the fire osh camp a few weeks back but I'm not anymore.
We were in the last two games right into the dyin seconds and we're screwed by the refs against Calgary. We were screwed by an anemic offense with no imagination(going on 6 years now).
The defence has done a complete 180 from last year and made Riley look like a rookie running for his life and had Mitchell looking ordinary. All things being equal, with willy in for the last two games I believe we win those games.
MB has to go and should have been gone with crouton. If Oshawa wants to keep MB then that it, pull the plug. Mid Shea punts MB and brings in a creative, promising of then give him one more year. Walters MUST find better import receivers and better linemen. But I'm guessing MB has a lot to do with our horrible ou online is and how often he tries to run up the gut over and over when it's never working.
The team is not quitting and that suggests strong leadership and buy in from the players.. Osh needs a better OC and better receivers for willy to throw through. The Defense under halls watch is fun to watch and becoming dominate.
Sorry for iPad autocorrect issues, but I'm to lazy to edit.

Offer O'Shea an extension conditional on 10 wins in 2016. Hit that number and he's automatically extended. Miss it and the dicsussion is re-opened at the end of 2016.

Hell, make it conditional on getting into the playoffs.

But don't give him an extension based on performance to date.

The optics of the situation do not allow for extending him, unless something really crazy happens the rest of the way here. Now, if he starts off fast next year, you extend him early...absolutely.

I feel like on a good day (hopefully today!) our defence can hang with any other and should be able to get the job done against Reilly and co. So it will come down to having some kind of success offensively.....even if just a shred....tall odds? Maybe, but in the Crazy Fun League stranger things have happened... It's been tough to muster up the gumption to go sit in our 200 level buckets at times this year but being in the hunt, grim as it is, takes the edge off. Would love to squeak out a win today!!! GO BLUE!!! 8-|

    Calgary @ Hamilton - (the no-Collaros version)

    - The Stampeders can clinch a playoff spot with either a win or BC Lions loss to Saskatchewan this week. If they win at Hamilton this week, Calgary is assured of a home game at least. Edmonton can clinch a playoff spot with a win and a BC loss ensuring a 10-win season for the Eskimos (BC and Winnipeg could then be no better than 9-9).
    - Eric Rogers : Built a 6-game streak with at least one TD this year – he has not scored a touchdown since then (last 5 games).
    - Calgary is now 25-5 when Bo Levi Mitchell starts at QB after last week’s win over Winnipeg. Mitchell is tied for first with Tracy Ham at 25-5 over his first 30 career starts.
    - The Stampeders won 25-23 at Winnipeg coming back from an opening drive TD by the Bombers to become the first team to 10 wins in 2015. Of their 10 wins in 2015, 6 have involved a comeback and 4 have been wire-to-wire victories. -  Last week, Hamilton did not record a single 1st down by rush. In the year of the pass, that has happened twice before but not by Hamilton. A scan of all Yardsticks reports back to 2002 shows at least one by Hamilton in any game. - The Ticats will be coming off a bye this week; teams doing that in 2015 are 8-5 thus far. The last four clubs coming off a bye week this year all won their games. Hamilton lost after their first bye this season. - With a win, Calgary can clinch a playoff spot for the 11th consecutive season, two short of their club record of 13 years in a row (1989-2001). They can sew up a home playoff game for the 4th year in a row and for the 6th time in the last eight years. That sets up an attempt to do something they haven’t before – win the Grey Cup two years in a row.  - The Tiger-Cats are farther out than Calgary but a victory would ensure at least a .500 season and put them potentially 3 wins ahead of Montreal (pending their game on Thursday night). A Hamilton win this week combined with a loss by BC would put the Ticats just ONE win away from clinching at least a cross-over position - This week Collaros miss a start for Hamilton for the 6th time in 31 games since 2014. By chance, Calgary will now be the opponent in those games for the THIRD time (the others were Ottawa, Winnipeg & BC). The Ticats are just 1-6 when Collaros either does not start or was injured and did not finish. - Calgary has won the last 7 meetings with Hamilton and 11 of the last 12 overall. However, this will be the first time that the Stampeders will be playing at Tim Hortons Field. - Last year Calgary set a club record with 8 road victories (8-1) and this season they are at 3-3. They are looking to extend a 5-year streak of at least a .500 record on the road. Making it 6 years running would set a new club record as they have been .500 or better on the road in 5 consecutive seasons twice before (1961-65 & 1992-96). - The Ticats are dominating the Turnover statistics in 2015 as their +18 mark is 16 better than Edmonton at #2 with only a +2 Ratio. No team has had such a big gap over #2 since Montreal in 2009 (+32 vs +9). - The Stampeders are led by the CFL’s leading receiver Eric Rogers (1,124 yards) who is the only one to reach 1,000 yards at this point. Teammate Marquay McDaniel (815 yards) sits at #3 but is just 8 yards back of S.J. Green (823). The Stampeders have twice before had the top two in the league: 1952 with Bob Shaw and Paul Salata, and most recently in 1999 with Allen Pitts and Travis Moore.   96.2% of MBB voters have picked the Calgary Stampeders to win this game. I concur. As does Chris Schultz.
