  3. I would like to bemoan the fact that the Argos are not coming to Winnipeg this year. Obviously, couldn't have predicted Harris going there but, why on earth in a 9 team league and 18 games, do we not play each time twice???

  5. Spent my 18th birthday being entertained by McLean & McLean at the Pandora. Prior to that, a bunch of us had front row seats to George Carlin at the concert Hall. Best night ever.

  10. They build up Harris and his motivation and then say, he's probably not going to run much to protect his leg. Geez, Panel, maybe he's not with Winnipeg anymore because he's old and can't stay healthy. There's more people in my living room than there is at BMO. US National anthem? Wtf.

  11. We played 14 games last year and we didn’t play Ottawa once. It boggles my mind how this can happen in a “professional” league. I love the CFL but this is bush league.

  12. Sounds like Coach Bowness is already tackling the **** show. Good for him.

  13. Liegghio is 100% on field goals, kicking over 83% on all kicks, has the 3rd highest punting average and 3rd highest kickoff average (min. 4 kickoffs). Maybe hold off on the executions for at least one week?

  14. Haha it was apparent he wasn’t even close to 100 percent healthy. Looks a lot quicker out there today!!

  17. 1) The closest we'll ever get to an official answer was something Tait tweeted - the club likes what they saw from Houston. MOS won't throw a player under the bus so we'll likely never know if there was more to it. 2) A PR spot does not automatically mean a drastically reduced salary - the team is able to pay their full salary if they choose to. 3) If you take the FIFO/go to hell stuff in this thread as anything more than a joke - lighten up Francis. People understand this is a business and players have to do what what they think is best - so does the team.

  19. Kickers miss, it's part of the game. Lewis Ward and Sergio Castillo are two of the best kickers in the league yet they have missed both coverts and field goals already this season. PS - Leggs has missed 2 converts this year, hardly what anyone would consider numerous.

  23. Well Rick, you've got 3 days to prep for the NHL draft. And then a whole summer to fix this broken team. Good luck!

  27. Just don't touch my stapler. I heard the league wanted to reduce travel costs while coming out of the pandemic. As an example, Calgary is playing Edmonton 4 times this season.

  28. No one is begrudging the club’s actions in demoting Glass. It’s a business decision. And no one should begrudge the player if he chose to turn down a PR spot, if that’s even how it played out. The rumour mill at best gets it half right half the time But lots of blind speculation with zero facts from more than a few fans as to why Glass was ultimately cut. Does anyone have proof that he was offered a PR spot? Does anyone have concrete info as to why he was released? Not from what I’ve heard, but it hasn’t stopped some from assuming that it must be more than just a production-based decision, that there is likely a character issue at play, or that if he declined a PR spot (and a vastly reduced salary) that he isn’t a FIFO guy by hanging around so it’s OK to tell him to go straight to hell. That’s pretty classless IMO. No one knows his personal circumstance, but he’d hardly be the first player to weigh his options and decide he’s better off being released outright to pursue other employment on another team or in another line of work than sit on the sidelines making lower pay. Maybe he has a family to feed and needs a better salary, maybe another opportunity is upcoming that fits him better…..doesn’t allow fans to blindly call his character into question and kick him on the way out the door for a personal life decision he has made with zero evidence as to why because the FIFO mantra gets thrown out as the end all be all.

  29. Curious where everyone is watching from? I’m in California and have been slowly converting a lot of Americans to the game (i.e. i force them to watch) but since it’s Fourth of July today everyone is busy so I’ll be flying solo.

  30. Leggs is gaining confidence as he goes...and we managing him perfectly....he's doing all 3.....and doing punting and kickoffs exceptionally well, and it looks like his FG's are coming along too....he's a yr older....a year wiser, and it shows....

  34. "The cliche thing to say is that we're just playing Toronto, but Andrew meant a lot to this organization, so it will be nice to see him," said Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros. "Everybody loved Andrew. He's a fiery guy, but trust me, we've got a lot of guys who bring a lot of energy." And fans can expect some heavy collisions during the contest. "If he's my guy, he's my guy. And if I hit him, I hit him," said Bombers linebacker Adam Bighill. "He knows that and he wouldn't want anything less from us." 😀 https://www.castanet.net/news/Sports/374004/-I-took-it-personal-Argos-Harris-set-to-face-old-team-as-Bombers-visit-Toronto

Discussed this over the weekend...... Masoli on his own isn't the answer, either. It's the combo of the two that equaled success for the Tabbies.

The Post Game coverage of Dane Evans was very touching for me ... watching him alone on the bench with head hung low when all his team mates had left, and then watching Arbuckle encouraging him in very real concern had a big effect on me ! Even with Arbuckle there Evans could not raise his head. "A scrambling Evans had the pigskin punched from his arms by safety Scott Hutter and corner Jalen Collins scooped it up for the winning score. After failing to create a successful response, a clearly emotional Evans had to be consoled on the sidelines by Elks’ backup quarterback Nick Arbuckle — who lost his own starting job last week" (3DownNation). I think TSN did good focusing on this real life story. Heroes are human and it helps us to know that.
