I get what you're saying, but I don't think Gray is at the talent level of Desjarlais. There's a drop off in replacement, but Gray is good enough to be adequate. I'm hoping he takes the next step in his development with more regular reps this season...

I think there's a point to be made about the Nickelodeon game played yesterday... I watched the last quarter and a half.... the game itself was not that interesting (though it did come down to the wire) but everything about the production of the game was entertaining as hell... the broadcast crew was young and exciting - Noah Eagle on PBP (never heard of him but he was good and I'm going to assume he's Ian's son) and Nate Burleson on colour (a young smart guy who knows how to relate to kids)... but the interesting part was having this young girl who is apparently a Nick star.... she knew nothing about football but was very enthusiastic and surprisingly added a lot to the broadcast... had another young kid on the side lines (he couldn't have been older than 10), who was also enthusiastic and entertaining... Obviously, I'm not saying the CFL should do a broadcast like this... but I genuinely believe more young people are going to watch a game with that kind of broadcast... the CFL/TSN (or whoever their broadcast partner will be in the future) needs to find a way to make the broadcast more entertaining

Samberg is a gooder. He's easily going to be a top 4 D man and if his O game improves playing with this forward group, he might one day be considered a top pairing LHD. His play wasn't mistake free but he is an intelligent player that knows how to use is size in more ways than one. Quite the vote of confidence having him playing on the kill and when they pulled their goalie. We have JMo Dillon Stanley Samberg Heinola Chisholm and even Schmidt shoots left. Lundmark should be ready in a couple or three years. That's some serious LH depth that Chevy might choose to use to shore up another area. What would a young D man like Stanley or Heinola return? PLD's dad is doing a fine job with our D men on the farm. Chisholm looked good (Maurice wudda played him 4 1/2 minutes) in his time and sure can skate. Kovacevic is said to be playing well and would have been called up instead of Chisholm if he were not in covid protocol. Perfetti's smarts shone through and he had good positioning in his own zone especially since he was playing right wing most shifts. I think the issue here is Suitor has become too comfortable in his position with TSN. There's nobody younger bucking to replace him so he's become cocky, opionated & arrogant. Teams missed the entire point of how walters built the OL. Yes they went and got Stanley Bryant in free agency... but they also spent many many high draft picks on offensive linemen. They didn't go out and buy an OL, they developed one.
