  1. The more I think about The Pick to win the Grey Cup, the more in awe I become. When you watch that play, the intelligence, athleticism & timing of that play with Deatrick Nichols deflecting the ball, Winston Rose having the presence of mind tto scoop the ball to Linebacker Kyies Wilson who cradled that ball like a newborn baby was probably a one in 10,000 play kinda thing. In all my years watching football going back to 1965 & maybe even a bit before, I have never seen anything like that. It was the greatest play I have ever seen. That was our defense working together just like they have all year to win a championship at the most critical time. It wasn't one player making an exceptional play. It was 3 with the help of the other 9. The Bombers Mike Gray interception on the goal line in the 1988 Grey Cup, Joe Namath guaranteeing a New York Jets win in over the 3 TD favourite Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. The Immaculate Reception by the Steeler's Franco Harris against the Oakland Raiders in the 1972 AFC Championship Game, Houston Oiler's RB Earl Campbell's exceptional run down the sidelines in 1978 on ABC MNF, Marcus Allen's reverse pivot for a 74 yard TD run in Super Bowl XVIII. Hamilton Ti Cats Tony Champions outstretched Monster Catch for a TD in the 1989 Grey Cup (considered the greatest play in GC history), Well, move over Tony & everybody else as The Pick is now Number One as I see it.

  2. From 3D Nation article and a quote from Rider GM O'Day “Cody’s our starting quarterback, it’s nice to know that he’s under contract and he’s coming back. He’s got a full year under working with coach [Jason] Maas,” O’Day said. Keep thinking this Jeremy.

  3. new season of Letterkenny out.......awesome as always. Wanted to mention (spoiler free!) a line from Ep 2, with two characters ripping each other for whose second-cousins were more redneck: "Your second cousins keep a bottle of Windex in the liquor cabinet for making what they call 'A Regina Martini'..." And I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed..... #4Stripes #DirtyRegina

  5. Who cares about these big time throws. Masoli had a big time throw crown the Champs Champs.

  6. "Big time throws" sounds way too subjective. Collaros lived off the "timely big time throw" but somehow Fajardo has twice as many? Oh, okay. Sure. disclaimer: I love Dunk and Ferguson too. They're the only CFL insiders who aren't hacks.

  7. The Bombers win B2B Grey Cups. Collaros is MOP. He's a CFL All Star. We had the highest scoring offense. We went 11-3. Lawler was the leading receiver in the CFL & the only pass catcher to have over a thousand yards. He was also a CFL All Star & our qb only has 4 "Big Time Throws" during the regular season & none in the playoffs or Grey Cup? Yet Massoli who threw the ball for The Pick in OT had 12??? WTH is this about other than to try & discredit what the Bombers did from a Hamilton cry baby? Chris "Fricking" Evans had 2??? Hamilton media & fans will always be bitter about how we stole what should have been rightfully theirs. They'll never give us credit where credit is due. Makes our victory even sweeter.

  9. but can't we hedge our bets with literally any other kicker alive? guy is straight up horrible lol

  10. I think this is a sign that Ali is on a minimum contract and this is Walter's hedging his bets if he can't get Castillo back.

  11. And I still wouldn't have been comfortable with him kicking in the Grey Cup.

  12. Mourtada was so bad that I cannot see any reason to ask him to return. I would be far more comfortable in sending Legghio to the the US of A and have our previous kicker coach the snot out of him.

    Covid-19

I cannot find the source of this information, but it appeared credible: even vaccinated patients receiving treatment for cancers have a 300% grater chance of morbidity or mortality than the general population if they contract any of the COVID viruses. Another good reason for these people to rigorously isolate and for others to both wear masks and keep their distances.

  14. It's the single greatest football play I've ever seen, bar none. I'd really love to sit in on the film study with those guys rewatching it. Would be fascinating to get their take on it after the fact...

So Stefanson can say she was present and did something. That's the only reason for that nothingburger of a press conference.

  21. Only YOU could turn trashy stats like that into further pumping LaPo's tires. As far as Buck expanding upon LaPo's system, the longer the season went on, the less we saw of it. There weren't checkdown after checkdowns to the running backs. We pushed the ball downfield under Pierce. We didn't go all out to then sit on a 10 point lead for three quarters. We kept on going offensively. Only when we didn't play our starters in the last 2 regular season games did I feel the offense was spinning its wheels like it did all the time under LaPo. The other 12 we were better than the other 8 teams in the CFL. Buck played to win while LaPo has always played not to lose.

  22. If we are going to foster a project kicker I would rather they draft a Canadian and let him learn on the field rather then having Moutarda.

  25. I don't know about the rest but after everything he's done/been through, there is absolutely no way Wade Miller lets Andrew Harris ever wear another uniform ever again. He will be a Bomber for the rest of his career, however long that is.

During the season he's a guest once a week on Sports Talk on CHQR radio here in Calgary. The questions never challenge what he says on television broadcasts They're all soft ball type. "Hey Glenn, doing a great job, what's your opinion on....??" I stopped listening years ago.

  31. Justin Dunk covers the league but I believe John Hodge is a teacher. He's a fan first. No one will confide in him if they're a coach or GM. It would be like you & I calling Kyle Walters & asking his opinions. He'd hang up.

  32. Desjarlais and Stove will require probably the more substantial bumps. Hardick..Neuf..BRyant can conceivably take same pay..they at top teir now..possibly Yoshi a slight bump..but if offered a fair deal..with prospect of playoof cash..they not leaving Also not sure why people think jeffcoat is making peanuts...he's not...not sure where that story developed. If any of the dlineman might be a risk to leave cause we can't offer enough to bridge with possible playooff money it's Kongbo...but I also think it needs to be b.c to lure him..and even then I coukd see him staying for 15 to 20k less here

CDC Recommends Cutting 10-Day COVID Isolation Period In Half U.S. officials say the guidance is due to growing evidence that those with COVID-19 are most infectious in the two days before and three days after symptoms . U.S. health officials on Monday cut isolation restrictions for Americans who catch the coronavirus from 10 to five days, and similarly shortened the time that close contacts need to quarantine. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials said the guidance is in keeping with growing evidence that people with the coronavirus are most infectious in the two days before and three days after symptoms develop. The decision also was driven by a recent surge in COVID-19 cases, propelled by the omicron variant. Early research suggests omicron may cause milder illnesses than earlier versions of the coronavirus. But the sheer number of people becoming infected — and therefore having to isolate or quarantine — threatens to crush the ability of hospitals, airlines and other businesses to stay open, experts say. Stefanson actually said she can't be everywhere and that she was spending time on year end interviews (its at about 46 minutes into the presser on the government site). What a useless individual. Why not drop retail capacity to 50%? Make it so you have to wear a mask at all times in gyms? Just off the top of my head.

Given the testing backlog and the fact they said to just stay home if sick, the numbers are basically meaningless at this point.

  39. Cost is always a factor. Harris is the highest paid RB in the CFL. He's always been worth the money, until this year. We've got his replacements under contract for way less money and we may lose them if we don't play them. I could see us making a lower offer than Harris wants and him retiring instead of taking it.

  40. A Performance that I rarely ever hear about our grey cup wins is Bobby Cameron's in the '88 grey cup in Ottawa. His punting was instrumental in our win that year. (It was very windy)

  44. I remember sitting there in the 4th quarter when we were down by 12 & being unbelievably calm. I remember thinking we can come back but it's going to be hard. I remember thinking if we lose the game I'm still extremely proud of the Boys in Blue & Gold. They didn't disappoint as they found a way to win. It was like this was Destiny's Team. That it was supposed to happen that way. That win was so satisfying. That last play for the interception was one for the ages & may have been the greatest play in Bomber history. It may have been? Let me correct myself. It was the greatest play in Bomber history!!

A helpful tip I learned as a first responder in rural areas: If you are about to hit a deer, or other wildlife while you are driving, do NOT EVER try to miss it. The natural reflexive movement is to crank the steering wheel over and then you are heading into the ditch at high speed with your front wheels turned sharply to the right. As your front wheels dig into the ditch, your momentum will cause the vehicle to barrel-roll or, worse yet do an endo. Your survival chances are much, much better if you hit the unfortunate creature dead center. If you have no option but to go into the ditch, point your front wheels straight ahead. And remember, ANYTHING, ANYTHING is preferable to a head-on collision. Saved my bacon a couple of times.
