  5. 3 grey cups with how many free tickets to the dance? Honestly a lot of calvillos success is tied to the team he was on. Look at how many people thought he was done the one year he had a less than superb offensive line.

  8. No doubt. The Als’ string of first places finishes but poor playoff performances can not be denied.

  9. Favourite: Khari Jones. Loved the guy and still wish him success even though he's with the greasy Als. Least Favourite: Nate Davis. Hated the signing the whole way. Luckily only played one game for Winnipeg. Still one game too many.

  10. Historically, that's a tough one... So many douchecanoes from which to choose. But active players? It's an easy one: Simoni Lawrence. I can't stand his cockiness and lame chirping, and so watching him during and after Grey Cup 107 was some of the best schadenfreude I've experienced in ages.

  12. All I said was Dunigan was not in my conversation of all-time best of the best QBs . Speed's rebuttal was to highlight one game. He was more than a one game wonder, less than the all-time top tier in my view.

  17. This isn't the same as "Grapes" restaurant that was kind of like the Keg and had purple grapes as a logo. That chain had a few locations around town and closed around ten years ago. Just to make things more confusing.

  18. Oh please. Alfred Jackson once had 308 receiving yards in a game. Fred Reid had 260 rushing yards. Sean Salisbury once threw for 454 yards and 6 TDs in a game. Danny Barrett hit 601 passing. David Archer and Kent Austin each had a season of over 6,000 yards passing. Would you put any of them in the "best of the best" category? One big game (or season) does not make an all-time elite.

Honestly Calvillo really benefited from the situation around him. For my money Ray was better, just outside of his Edmonton time didn't have tremendous teams around him. Honestly not sure where to slot Dunigan in with the all time club. Guy had a peak as high as anyone IMO, trouble was injuries matter right?

as good as Ricky Ray was, I would say he's one of the most underrated players in league history. People have never given him enough credit. Best pure passer I ever witnessed.

  23. Gotta disagree just a bit. Flutie & Moon absolutely - they were in a class by themselves. But Ray and Calvillo were similar in both style of play and effectiveness. Lots of dink & dunk with the odd medium or long pass mixed in.

  25. Yeah Bell was a tool. Arrogant, not all that good, and had a stupid mustache. Pretty easy to dislike. For me other dislikes would be Dave Donaldson(crappy play), Sam Hurl(crappy play), and Henoc Muamba(jerking the team around and being a hired gun whos all about the money). Joe Mack is in a league of his own when it comes to dislikes Favorites would be Milt, Walby, Roberts, Juran Bolden, Terrence Edwards, and Khari.

  26. Kerwin Bell is a good choice for the dislike pile. I just remember we'd be down by 20-25 points going into the 4th and he'd have passed for about 100-125 yards and then he'd throw up big numbers in garbage time and you'd look and think 300+ yards, not a bad game when the truth was he was awful. To borrow from Comic Book Guy, Worst 5,000 passing yard season ever.

  27. Dave Donaldson?!?! Lol, Double D! Man I hated that guy. I remember a play where he was beat like a rented mule(I know, be more specific), and the receiver was like 10 yards clear of him. The QB underthrew the ball and it got caught up in the wind so it ends up hitting Donaldson in the back when the receiver had to come back for the ball. Donaldson starts jumping around, and giving the incomplete pass signal with his arms like he just made some great play lol. He was beyond terrible.

    Covid-19

I was talking to someone the other day who believed the whole thing was a hoax. He said he knew someone who died of cancer but the hospital put ‘corona virus’ on the death certificate - said it was a lady from Manitoba. It took me less than a minute to determine that she could not possibly be one of the 7 Manitoba deaths (based on the date of death & her age didn’t match either). So yeah, if people can believe crap like that, they sure won’t be concerned about social distancing.

  33. Don’t be shy. Name names. I remember a story Nick Benjamin told when he joined the Bombers. He was an offensive lineman with Ottawa who was consistently regarded as the dirtiest player in the league amongst his peers. He got traded to the Bombers and actually said he was afraid walking into the locker room to face Ty Jones and James West knowing all the cheap shots he had taken against them in the past, sensing that an offhand “Sorry about trying to take out your knees so many times” might fall flat. He approached them and before he could get a word out beyond “So I just wanted to clear the air...” both players walked up to him and pulled him aside into a corner, and West said “Look, what ever has happened in the past, you are now our teammate here, we expect you to be a Bomber, we have your back and we expect you to have ours. Let’s just leave all the rest of it at the door you just walked through”. No apology, no forgiveness, just an understanding of how it was going to be going forward.

Who do you trust for news then? Your proof is an anecdotal local crime story and yet you want to defund a multi-platform organization that does important news reporting from around the world and offers Canadian stories, talent, and perspectives that you will not find anywhere else. I really don't think the bias lies with the CBC in your case.

I'll also add that the Liberals have changed the appointment process to the Board of Directors so that an independent body (Independent Advisory Committee) performs the recruitment, review and appointment process. Someone is forgetting that Harper appointed 9 Conservative donors to the 12 member board and we're still living with a chunk of them because they serve 5 year terms. https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/news/2020/06/minister-guilbeault-announces-new-appointments-to-the-cbcradio-canada-board-of-directors.html https://thetyee.ca/News/2016/04/27/CBC-Board-Member-Resigns/?nnw-28999-1 (Board member resigns to seek Conservative Party Presidency).
