Something I read resonated with me. It read something like 'We're not all in the same boat but we're all certainly in the same storm'. I like the way this is put because some people are definitely in more crappy boats than others.

I really hope people don't contract the virus from the protests. I personally believe this BLM movement is the biggest, most important social movement of my lifetime and NEEDS to be heard. It's just really really unfortunate it had to happen during a pandemic.

A federal judge who accused Barr of ‘distorting’ the Mueller report has read an unredacted version — and now he’s demanding some answers The Mueller report hasn’t been in the headlines much in 2020, a year that has found reporters heavily focused on the Ukraine scandal, President Donald Trump’s acquittal on two articles of impeachment, the coronavirus pandemic, former Vice President Joe Biden’s surge in the Democratic presidential primary and — most recently — the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25. But the Mueller report is still a compelling read, and a federal judge is demanding some answers after confirming, on June 8, that he has read an unredacted version of the lengthy document. https://www.alternet.org/2020/06/a-federal-judge-who-accused-barr-of-distorting-the-mueller-report-has-read-the-unredacted-version-and-now-hes-demanding-some-answers/

I am at the point where I don't even flinch when Trump engages in this level of idiocy. I just ask "OK, what is he doing illegally behind the scenes today to fill his own pockets that he doesn't want anyone to know about, hence this ridiculous tweet so that we all focus on something shiny instead of the real story?"

    1. We all understand your frustration. 2. There really wasn’t any way for government or law enforcement to effectively and peacefully stop the protests. 3. There was really no way for Dr. Roussin to say the protests were a bad idea and shouldn’t have happened. Perception is 9/10s of reality, and some would have perceived such comments as racist.

  13. Interesting idea. Makes some sense. Limits player housing expenses as the article indicates. Not ideal, but, nothing will be ideal this season. Who would be your choice for an Eastern team to buddy with in Winnipeg? I'll go with Ottawa, just to have our old pal Lapo hanging around town.

I really really really hate politicians who won't stand up and explain their budgets. That being said I ain't getting worked up at the government spending during this pandemic. It was needed and will ultimately do less damage than not doing it.

There were a LOT of people in the States saying "F it" before the BLM protests started. The increased infection rates in 22 States likely don't even include many protesters yet as they only started 8 days ago.

  25. The best take away from this is Trump threw Barr under the bus as the architect of the attack on the protesters and Barr responded by making Trump a liar about the bunker. You love to see it.

Once again, one lie is used to explain another. Trump went down for an inspection. Well, no he didn't. Given Trump's personalty, I would bet he left a trail of urine all the way down.

There is a big difference between people clustering in large numbers on a regular basis for entertainment purposes or work for that matter. The protests have been to protest an issue which has been a stain on societies and institutions since time immemorial. It affects more than the people who are the target .It seeps into our whole country and costs us all in so many overt and subtle ways. My wife is immune-compromised and still encouraged me to go to the rally last Saturday, but I refused, fearing that I might bring something home that might do her harm. We all have to make decisions but if Trudeau did not attend, he would have been criticized for that, as well, and I believe that he did the right thing.

    Covid-19

People have lost jobs and businesses. People have been unable to see dying or seriously ill loved ones who are in hospitals, people haven't been allowed to attend their place of worship, people haven't given up many things that made up their day to day lives and they did it for the greater good, to help save lives and flatten the curve because this is what the government, public health officials and the media preached and heck for the mot part did it willingly. Then other people and many of the same government officials hold rallies for what is without question a good cause but at the same time, people weren't observing social distancing not were all wearing masks and they're told that this was ok because it was for good? So Noeller, The Unknown Poster, 17to85, you don't see why people are upset or disillusioned?

GOP lawmakers plotting escape from Trump over possibility he’ll lose 2020 election in a ‘landslide’: conservative In a column for the Daily Beast, conservative commentator Matt Lewis said there are indications that more than a few GOP lawmakers will turn their backs on Donald Trump as it becomes clearer that he will go down in a major defeat in November. According to Lewis, who abandoned the Republican Party specifically because it became the party of Trump, the president is stumbling into the November election and running scared. “Donald Trump is scared,” he began. “He has beaten, dominated, and bludgeoned the Republican Party into positions that would make a drunken riot cop blush with shame. But now that Trump may lose in a landslide, his captives and quislings are plotting their escape.” As Lewis notes, the tipping point for conservatives and Republicans to seriously consider turning on the president was brought about by comments made by retired General James Mattis in the past week. https://www.alternet.org/2020/06/gop-lawmakers-plotting-escape-from-trump-over-possibility-hell-lose-2020-election-in-a-landslide-conservative/xsxas
