  1. After Sunday's game, a Calgary fan posted on their fan forum that Streveler runs like he's trying to kill people. 😁

What's truly impressive about Strev's running is doing it with Northern Skunk's head jammed that far up there....

Nichols is a good QB..cerebral and efficient but not other wordly. On a good team with a nice compliment of weapons he is excellent and a guy who will win you more than you lose, but he is what he is...won't become anything more now and isn't a guy who will consistently out a team on his back and carry/will/inspire them to win by himself. He may make the odd spectacular play but it will be rare and it's not in his DNA Strev is a different beast at this time...smart and young/inexperienced and learning the game...He is fire and determination and a outright beast who can..and has taken a game in his hands and just powered his way to succeed at any cost, its more so one dimensional to this point, but is leaps and bounds better than when he first got here...he can and has done he spectacular and sticking with him over the longterm will do it over and over and he WILL start doing it in the air...for all the detractors out there he is not just a runner....he's just been more of a runner while here than a passer, and thats due to his limited experience as a starting qb at any level. The special thing with Strev is the team already has his respect and see's his commitment to the team and what he will do...and they will go through a wall for him, on both sides of the ball because they see him doing it on every play..and that is huge..he has that unique ability to raise the level of play of everyone..defense included and players have already said as much.

  4. This is my ultimate revenge game as a fan. Who else remembers the 1972 Western Final? Who the teams were? Where they finished in the standings? The horrible way the Bombers lost that game? For us old timers with lonnnnnnnnng memories, just how glorious will it be if we beat the Riders in their home park? In front of their fans? And how good will it feel for us to break their hearts??? The teams are the same but the standings reversed. They're hosting instead of us. Pressure is on them to win in front of their own fans in their House in front of a big crowd. I've waited 47 years for this game. Please Bombers, wash the stench of that loss in 1972 away finally. FINALLY!!!

I don't know about that, Streveler created a lot of first downs they would not have made otherwise, he helped keep the offence on the field throughout the game.

From RF.com : Ya you are correct that I had forgot that in the Banjo bowl he played pretty well. I had to go rewatch the highlightes. Bunch of idiots our oline was on the fumble let Willie walk in untouched up the gut....thats a terrible idea. Willie did have a big whiff though on CF's TD run, but not the only player to miss CF this season. Im a huge Jefferson fan but he was fairly quiet this season as a whole outside of a few games. MOST OUTSTANDING DEFENSIVE PLAYER In his first season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Willie Jefferson set a career-high 12 sacks, added 24 tackles and an interception, forced six fumbles and recovered two, registered five tackles for a loss and set a CFL record with 16 pass knockdowns. Jefferson led the Bombers defence to league-highs in opponent rushing yards, turnovers forced and pass knockdowns.

Folks are pretending that we destroyed the Stamps for the whole game. Truth of the matter is that they won the first half and we owned them in the 2nd half. The 70 yard TD in the 4th destroyed their confidence. After that BLM threw 2 picks and they turned the ball over on downs. We needed the combo of Collaros/Streveler to beat them. Either one alone or Nichols/Streveler wouldn't have done the job. We needed the big throws and the big runs. Neither QB by themselves could provide both. I'm not suggesting we sign Collaros next year. In fact, I didn't want us to trade for him in the first place because of his health. It's turned out great so far, but I'm still worried about a big hit taking him out yet again. Collaros has been both good and lucky in Bomber Blue. Great TD throws and 4 balls that should have been picked, but weren't. He's moved the pocket well, something that Nichols can't do, and that's been the reason for some of his biggest plays. He's only played 1 and 3/4 games so far. Breaks will even out over the long run, but we're in the playoffs so the long run doesn't exist.

Collaros throws have more zip on them. He throws a better medium and a better deep ball. He's way more mobile than Nichols. There's no way Nichols even throws the ball to Adams in the last season game, let alone gets it there accurately. Collaros doesn't rely on the Harris dump pass anywhere near as often as Nichols does which makes defences have to cover everyone. Collaros did it against Calgary twice, one of which was a playoff game. Nichols mostly played against the bottom 3 teams in the league. Stats aren't going to tell the story because both QB's played in the PLAP offence.

I’d say you nailed it TLB in rapier like fashion. Strev’s reckless abandon could be sustainable with spinerama type moves and getting scintillating blocks. He could be helped with additional paraphenalia allowing a dipsy doodle for another glorious scoring opportunity sustaining canonading drives. Looking forward to his runs causing hair raising reaction to the enemy coach.

What Streveler achieved against the Stamps was an incredible display of athleticism and brute will, but taking that amount of punishment is totally unsustainable on a game to game basis IMO, as it is I'm not all that confident he can get through two more games playing with such reckless abandon. If Fajardo is absent or less than 80% I think Collaros can beat the Riders with limited assistance from Streveler, using him sparingly would be wise, saving his beast mode for the big day. Against the Stamps Streveler did not attempt a single pass, he either ran or handed off every time he touched the ball, it was a freak show.

Fajardo will play...and I hope he does as he doesn't really scare me and the defense knows what he is and what you will get, and if he isn't 100% it will be even less than normal...which wasn't great with him leading that team over 3 games they only averaged just over 16 points per game against us, and he threw more INT's than TD's (3 to 2)...and that was against us in games where we were missing Harris..Nichols...Alexander..Jeffcoat among others and were probably playing some of our poorer ball of the year and were a very one dimensional team. Since then we have replaced Hecht with Alexander..Maston for Rios..Jeffcoat is back to form...so it's a different defense, and scheme now... Fajardo was/is your classic feast on the crap teams...very mediocre to barely average against good teams...go back and look at his stats vs CGY/WPG/MTL and see for yourself..

Can we all agree that next season a new O-Coordinator regardless of the QB would be a welcome change? I'm not asking for bombing the ball like I was playing Tecmo Super Bowl.... it would be nice to challenge teams with 20 - 30 yard passes more then twice a game....

the little things, those tangibles you're talking about, they're huge to a team... he seems to have a very good relationship with Nichols, and seems to be starting one with Collaros as well... you see Streveler greeting players as they come off the field, talking them up, high fiving, etc.... you see him working the sidelines, big smile on his face, congratulating his team mates... and it all comes off as so sincere too... I don't think you could get him to pull himself out of a game, even with an appendage about to fall off... the kind of player I want on my team, for sure...

3 weeks. Plus, throwing a ball and being in a game aren't the same. I could only imagine the butt clenching around here if our starter hadn't played in a game for 3 weeks going into the biggest game of the year

I dont think that was a case of overconfidence moreso of coasting after getting up and not being able to get the mojo back. Over confidence and cocky would have been losing basically from the onset The CGY game showed a team that got a lead later in game..and extended it instead of sitting on it..and not letting the team off the mat whatsoever. Same can be said about the last home game against montreal..we got up in 2nd quarter.. held the lead and still outscored them over final 2+ quarters..this team ain't going down that path again

  45. I don't care what they do this week. What they did last week seemed to upset a lot of posters during the week and yet they kicked butt on Sunday. As long as it translates into a win this Sunday, then they can piss everyone off all they want this week. Hold closed practices in Spain and cut everybody on the team but the cashier at the new store in the mall - as long as you win on Sunday - and I will completely happy with it.
